2020.11.26 08:23 Significant-Notice- Best movies of 2020
I categorize them on the basis of when I watch them, so there is always some slippage at the beginning and the end of the year, all the more for foreign films, which can come to the U.S. as much as a year or two later than their original release dates. Of course this year was very different and there was hardly anything wonderful from Hollywood. Here is the list, as usual in the order I saw them: Monos
, Spanish-language, Lord of the Flies-type elements. The Guilty
, Danish police story, mainly talk, limited settings, really good. Just 6.5
, Iranian war on drugs movie, brutal at times, culturally fascinating. The Wedding Plan
, a few years older, a Rama Burshtein movie, imagine an Israeli woman setting out to get married by a particular date no matter what. Diana Kennedy: Nothing Fancy
. I think you need to have a preexisting connection to Mexico and Mexican food to enjoy it. I do. Graduation
), 2016 Romanian movie about trying to cheat on your kid’s exam. Excellent. An American Pickle
, Straussian. Tenet
, if only to see a blockbuster again. Cuties
, yes it was really good, even if sometimes uncomfortably exploitative in its treatment of the source material, namely dancing young teen girls. My Octopus Teacher
, god-awful sentimental and storified, but everyone loved it. The Two Faces of a Bamileke Woman
, set in Cameroon, about cross-cultural differences. Chez Jolie Coiffure
, set in a Brussels hair salon, women from Cameroon and DRC talk to each other, from the same director as Two Faces of a Bamileke Woman
, they make a nice set piece and are both quite short. The Wild Goose Lake
, set in Wuhan, a kind of Chinese noir, you have to already like Chinese cinema for this one.
Usually I put this list out later in the year, but what is the point of waiting?

2020.11.25 23:24 CatEyes420 How the Rothschilds took over the World (long but informative)
Amschel Moses Rothschild was born in about 1710. He was a German Jewish silk trader and money changer in the Judengasse (Jewstreet) in Frankfurt. Around 1743 he placed a red hexagram sign (which numerically and geometrically convert into the number 666) above the entrance of his door. His house was also red in color.
Within two centuries, the Rothschild, instructed this hexagram sign to be made part of the Israeli flag 🇮🇱. He had 8 children with Schönche Lechnich, one of his sons, Mayer Amschel Rothschild (1744-1812), is the founder of the Rothschild banking dynasty. He marries Guttle SchnappeSchönche Lechnich (Rothschild) in 1770, and they have 10 children together.
Around 1760, Mayer Amschel Bauer worked for a bank owned by the Oppenheimer (are part of Rothschild family/married, had children together..). Mayer was very successful and became a junior partner, where he meets General von Estorff.
After Mayer Amschel Bauer’s father Moses Amschel Bauer died, Mayer changed his name from Bauer to Rothschild (Rot = red / Schild = sign).
Mayer Amschel Rothschild and his sons establish what was known as the Five Arrows of Banking. These golden arrows can be seen on the eagle’s talons visible on the coat of arms city from Frankfurt, Germany. It represented the 5 sons who managed the global banking Houses of the Rothschild which included:
• Frankfurt • London • Paris • Vienna • Napl
Mayer discovers that General von Estorff is aquatinted with the court of Prince William IX, Landgrave of Hesse-Hanau (known today as Hesse-Kassel) (married?). The royal house of William obtained its’ wealth by the hiring out or exporting their soldiers to foreign countries for major profit.
Mayer began selling William IX rare trinkets, treasures, and coins at extra low prices. Eventually, as planned, Mayer is introduced to the Prince himself, who is delighted with the modified prices. Mayer even offers the prince a perk for any new business opportunities, William could direct his way. As a result, Mayer Amschel Rothschild and Prince William join forces and become business accomplices.
In 1769, Prince William grants Mayer approval to hang a sign on his business storefront declaring that he is, “M. A. Rothschild, by appointment court factor to his serene highness, Prince William of Hanau.”
In 1773, Amschel Mayer Rothschild is born, eventually he would take over the Frankfurt bank. He is the first of Mayer’s sons who will all eventually enter the family business at 12 years of age. He is followed by Salomon Mayer Rothschild, in 1774.
In 1776, Mayer Amschel Rothschild creates the Illuminati and hands over the organizations development to Adam Weishaupt. Weishaupt sneaks in the Continental Order of Freemasons with this Illuminati doctrine. This doctrine claims a new order for the human race under the dictatorship of Satan and his supporters. This view is accepted and spread like a wildfire and is pursued in Masonic Lodges worldwide to this day.
In 1777, Nathan Mayer Rothschild is born, who is followed by Kalmann (Carl) Mayer Rothschild/Carl Mayer Freiherr von Rothschild in 1788. Carl is the founder of the Rothschild banking family of Naples. He had child named Adolf Carl....
In 1791, Alexander Hamilton, (a Rothschild representative in George Washington’s cabinet) and the Rothschilds, infiltrated a central bank in the newly established United States colonies. This bank was know as the Bank of the United States and was organized with a 20 year charter.
“Jacob” or “James” Mayer de Rothschild or Baron de Rothschild is born in 1792. Originally named Jakob Mayer Rothschild. He is the youngest child of Mayer. He was a German-French banker and is the founder of the French banking branch of the Rothschild family. He had 5 children.
Amschel Mayer Rothschild marries Eva Hanau in 1796.
In 1798, Mayer, grants his son, Nathan Mayer Rothschild, a major sum of money, and sends him to England, to advance the family interests in importing textile. This allowed him to establish a bank in the City of London known as N. M. Rothschild & Sons.
In 1806, Prince William, escapes Germany and assigns his $3,000,000 fortune over to Mayer Amschel Rothschild for guardianship, because Napoleon made it his objective to abolish the rulership and influence of the house of Hess-Cassel.
Nathan Mayer also marries Rothschild Hannah Barent Cohen during this time.
In 1808, Nathan Mayer Rothschild has his first child, Lionel Nathan de Rothschild.
In 1810, Mayer entered into a formal partnership agreement with his three eldest sons. Abraham Goldsmid and Sir Francis Baring die, leaving Nathan Mayer Rothschild as the last major remaining banker in England.
Salomon Mayer Rothschild launches the bank, M. von Rothschild und Söhne in Vienna, Austria. And Calmann ("Carl") established the branch in Naples, Italy.
The youngest son Jacob, was sent to Paris in 1811, strengthening the family's ability to operate across Europe by opening the bank “de Rothschild Frères. This allowed them to profit by funding the Wellington's armies in Portugal, which required them to secure large quantities of gold in favor of the British government.
The charter established between the Rothschild and the Bank of the United States in 1791 runs out in 1811 and Congress decided to vote against its renewal.
Andrew Jackson (7th President of the U.S. from 1829 to 1837) stated, “If Congress has a right under the Constitution to issue paper money, it was given them to use by themselves, not to be delegated to individuals or corporations.”
Nathan Mayer Rothschild replied, “Either the application for renewal of the charter is granted, or the United States will find itself involved in a most disastrous war.”
In 1812, Britain, which was supported by the Rothschild empire, declared war on the United States. The Rothschilds systematically arranged this war to cause the United States to build up a major debt due to them defending themselves. Eventually, they would have to surrender which forced them to renew the charter for the Rothschild owned Bank of the United States.
Mayer Amschel Rothschild perishes. In his will, he establishes very specific rules that the Rothschild must obey:
• All major positions in the family business may only be held by family members; specifically only male members, which included a rumored sixth bastard son. (Mayer Amschel also had five daughters. Their Zionist empire also included mixed offspring of Jewish decent.) • In order to preserve their fortune they had to intermarry with their first and second cousins (16 of the 18 marriages between Mayers’ grandchildren were between first cousins). • No publication of their estates or inventory • no legal action was to be taken with respect to the value of their fortune • The oldest son of the oldest son was to become the head of the family, but this could be reversed if the bulk of the family decided otherwise.
The $3,000,000 entrusted to Mayer by Prince William is accounted for in the Jewish Encyclopaedia, 1905 edition, Volume 10, page 494, which states, “According to legend this money was hidden away in wine casks, and, escaping the search of Napoleon’s soldiers when they entered Frankfurt, was restored intact in the same casks in 1814, when the elector (Prince William IX of Hesse-Hanau) returned to the electorate (Germany). The facts are somewhat less romantic, and more businesslike.”
The money was never truly “returned” by Rothschild to Prince William, instead their families married each other for business purposes, to keep the money hidden and allowing both families to gain and grow the empire. The encyclopaedia also states, “Nathan Mayer Rothschild invested this $3,000,000 in, gold from the East India Company knowing that it would be needed for Wellington’s peninsula campaign.” The Rothschilds made, “no less than four profits: 1. i) On the sale of Wellington’s paper which he bought at 50 cents on the dollar and collected at par; 2. ii) on the sale of gold to Wellington; 3. iii) on its repurchase; and 4. iv) on forwarding it to Portugal.”
In 1815, the Rothschild brothers started their policy of financing both sides of the wars by the suppling them with gold Wellington’s army (Nathan in England) and Napoleon’s army (Jacob in France).
Since these brothers had banks spread out across Europe, it allowed them to set up an unmatched postal service grid of secret routes and couriers allowing them to be one step ahead of the crowd.
These couriers were the only ones allowed to pass through the French and English blockades, which then reported back to Nathan and kept him up to date with how the war was going allowing him to buy/sell stock successfully.
When the war ended and the British defeated Napoleon, Nathan, through past strategic planning made a return of 20:1 on his investments, which gave the Rothschilds complete control over the British economy forcing England to establish a different Bank of England, which Nathan controlled. He would later state,
“I care not what puppet is placed upon the throne of England to rule the Empire on which the sun never sets. The man who controls Britain’s money supply controls the British Empire, and I control the British money supply.”
The newly established Bank of England controlled by the Rothschilds changed their approach of shipping gold to different countries by using their five banks across Europe to set up a banking system of paper credits and, which is still used today.
In 1816, the Rothschild’s charter for the Bank of the United States was renewed for twenty more years giving the Rothschilds full control of the American money supply once again.

In 1835, the 7th president of the United States, Andrew Jackson, began placing the federal funds into banks managed by democratic bankers instead of the Rothschild governed Bank of the United States.
This lead to an assassination attempt being made on President Jackson, who would later declare that he knew the Rothschilds were at fault for the assassination attempt.
The Rothschilds gained ownership over the Almadén quicksilver mines in Spain. This was important, because quicksilver was a critical factor in the refining of gold or silver. This established a basic world monopoly for the Rothschild banking empire.
Nathan Mayer Rothschild dies in 1836. and his bank, N. M. Rothschild & Sons is taken over by his younger brother, James Mayer Rothschild.
In the year 1837, President Andrew Jackson succeeds in overthrowing the Rothschild controlled Bank of America. It wouldn’t be until the year 1913 that the Rothschilds could reestablish their third central bank in America, the (illegal) Federal Reserve.

Eventually this railway would join together with the Austrian rail-system built by his brother Salomon Mayer Rothschild.
In 1858, Lionel De Rothschild takes his seat in the British parliament making him the first Jewish member.
In 1861, the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln (1860-1865) secures loans through the Rothschilds to fund the American civil war via Charters, but these loans came at high interest rates (between 24% -36%).
So, Lincoln decided to print his own money, which was debt free and could be legally used in private and public debts/affairs. By April 1862, $449,338,902 of the debt free money Lincoln created was distributed.
In 1863, Italy, unifies causing the (Carl) Rothschild bank in Naples, Italy, to close. So the Rothschilds decided they would use their American assistant, John D. Rockefeller, to help establish an oil business also known as Standard Oil, who became the leader in the industry.
Alexander II (1855 – 1881), Tsar of Russia, also had issues with the Rothschilds, because he refused to let them set up a central bank in Russia. In 1864, Abraham Lincoln discovers this feud and request Tsar to help fund the Civil War. Tsar agrees and sends part of his navy to the coast of New York and California. Allowing Lincoln to win the Civil War.
In 1865, President Lincoln states in a statement to Congress, “I have two great enemies, the Southern Army in front of me, and the financial institution in the rear. Of the two, the one in my rear is my greatest foe.”
President Lincoln is assassinated later that year (1865).
Otto von Bismarck states in 1876, “The division of the United States into two federations of equal force was decided long before the civil war by the high financial power of Europe. These bankers were afraid that the United States, if they remained in one block and as one nation, would attain economical and financial independence, which would upset their financial domination over the world. The voice of the Rothschilds predominated. They foresaw the tremendous booty if they could substitute two feeble democracies, indebted to the financiers, to the vigorous Republic, confident and self-providing. Therefore they started their emissaries in order to exploit the question of slavery and thus dig an abyss between the two parts of the Republic.”
The 20th President of the United States, James A. Garfield (lasted only 100 Days) stated two weeks before he was assassinated in 1881, “Whoever controls the volume of money in our country is absolute master of all industry and commerce…and when you realize that the entire system is very easily controlled, one way or another, by a few powerful men at the top, you will not have to be told how periods of inflation and depression originate.”
Edmond James de Rothschild has a son named Maurice de Rothschild. (Adolf Hitler is really Maurice de Rothschild with fake beard and hair piece and carries out his father’s (Baron Abraham Edmond Benjamin James de Rothschild 1845 –1934) work. Since the war caused a sugar shortage, Maurice would have also been the candy man aka Willy Wanka and his top hat 🎩 and cain in his photos match the part).

This meeting is supervised by Theodor Herzl, who would declare in his diaries, “It is essential that the sufferings of Jews….become worse….this will assist in realization of our plans….I have an excellent idea….I shall induce anti-Semites to liquidate Jewish wealth….The anti-Semites will assist us thereby in that they will strengthen the persecution and oppression of Jews. The anti-Semites shall be our best friends.”
Herzl was elected to be the President of the Zionist Organization. The Zionist society adopted the Red Rothschild Hexagram Sign that Amschel Moses Rothschild placed on his house on Judengasse (Jewstreet), on their Zionist flag. This hexagram sign would end up on the flag of Israel 🇮🇱 51 years later.
The Rothschilds help fund Edward Henry Harriman. This allowed him to become the director of the Union Pacific Railroad which would eventually also gain control of the Southern Pacific Railroad.

They send him a delegation which states, “If you wish to save the Yishuv (The Jewish colonies) first take your hands from it, and…for once permit the colonists to have the possibility of correcting for themselves what needs correcting.”
Edmond James de Rothschild does not react very well to these news and states, “I created the Yishuv, I alone. Therefore no men, neither colonists nor organisations have the right to interfere in my plans.”
The M. A. von Rothschild und Söhne banking house in Frankfurt, Deutschland 🇩🇪, closes because there was no male Rothschild heir to take over the bank.
The Jewish Encyclopaedia (Vol. 2, p.497) states, “It is a somewhat curious sequel to the attempt to set up a Catholic competitor to the Rothschilds that at the present time the latter are the guardians of the papal treasure.”
In 1906, the Rothschilds insisted that the land was experiencing increased instability, while the Rockefellers were simultaneously becoming a rising competition. This was a lie, because in reality, the Rockefellers were the offspring of the Rothschilds through a female lineage. They owned Standard Oil, which is why they sold their Caspian Black Sea and Caspian Petroleum to Shell and Royal Dutch.
John F. Hylan, then mayor of New York, states in 1911, “The real menace of our republic is the invisible government which, like a giant octopus, sprawls its slimy length over our city, state and nation. At the head is a small group of banking houses, generally referred to as international bankers.”
George R. Conroy talks about the Rothschild banker Jacob Schiff in the December 1912 issue of, “Truth,” magazine, and states, “Mr Schiff is head of the great private banking house of Kuhn, Loeb, and co, which represents the Rothschilds interests on this side of the Atlantic. He has been described as financial strategist and has been for years the financial minister of the great impersonal power known as Standard Oil. He was hand in glove with the Harrimans, the Goulds, and the Rockefellers in all their railroad enterprises and has become the dominant power in the railroad and financial power of America.”
The Anti Defamation League (ADL) is established in the United States by the Rothschilds in 1913, which labeled anyone who challenged the Global Elite as “anti-Semitic.” This is also the year that they founded their last central bank which still exists today, the Federal Reserve.

When the President signs this Bill, the invisible government of the monetary power will be legalized…….The greatest crime of the ages is perpetrated by this banking and currency bill.” The Federal Reserve System is a private Organization also known as a charity and is Illegal!!! They also do not publish their accounts
By the year 1914 the Rothschilds have gained control of multiple European media agencies, which included, Havas (est. 1835) in France, Wolff (est. 1849) in Germany, and Reuters (est. 1851) in England. Wolff News company was used to systematically shape German individuals into believing war the way to go. Since the Rothschilds owned the media now, they were seldomly reported on.
Since, Tsar Alexander II choose to side with President Lincoln in the Cvil War in 1864, he and his whole family in Russia were executed in 1917 by an order of the Rothschilds. They kill the entire family to show the world what happens when you try to cross them.

The Times of London report on March 29th on the Bolsheviks in Russia stating, “One of the curious features of the Bolshevist movement is the high percentage of non Russian elements among its leaders. Of the twenty or thirty commissaries, or leaders, who provide the central machinery of the Bolshevist movement, not less than 75% were Jews.”
The Rothschilds were not happy with the Russians because they did not want them to establish their own central bank within their community. So they hired Jewish agents to spy on Russia and plant seeds in the heads of the Russian community about a revolution that would assist the common man by promoting rebellion through riots. The Rothschilds strategically set this up to conquer Russia, so they could establish their own bank there.
The International Edition of the Jewish Post (January 1991)verifies that Vladimir Lenin was Jewish and was caught on record declaring, “The establishment of a central bank is 90% of communizing a nation.”
These Jewish Bolsheviks, funded by the Rothschild would end up would end up slaughtering 60 million Non-Jews and Christians in a Soviet controlled region.

Where millions of Non-Jews and Christians died. On page 79 of his book he mentions the names of the leaders who were behind these camps. This included the Zionist Jews, Yakov Rappoport, Aron Solts, Naftaly Frenkel, Lazar Kogan, Genrikh Yagoda, and Matvei Berman.

In Walter Langer book, “The Mind Of Hitler,” he supports this statement by writing, “Adolf’s father, Alois Hitler, was the illegitimate son of Maria Anna Schicklgruber…….Maria Anna Schicklgruber was living in Vienna at the time she conceived. At that time she was employed as a servant in the home of Baron Rothschild. As soon as the family discovered her pregnancy she was sent back home…….where Alois was born.”

World War II ends in 1945. It is also noted that the I.G. Farben companies only sustained 15% damage, concluding that they were not a target in the bombing of Germany. Any information connecting Western aid to Hitler is censored through the Nazi War Crimes investigation held at the end of World War II by the tribunals.
In Spring of 1948, the 33rd President of the United States Harry S. Truman (1945 – 1953) is bribed with $2,000,000 by the Rothschilds to acknowledge Israel (Rothschild owned) as a Jewish sovereign state in Palestine. The United States is the first nation to recognize it and the new flag is soon revealed. The new Israel flag depicted a blue hexagram on it, which was exactly like the red Rothschild hexagram, found on Amschel Moses Rothschild’s doorstep.
The Jewish knew the hexagram represented the “Moloch,” which was the biblical name of a Canaanite god relating to child sacrifice, by means of fire or war. The stone owl located at the Bohemian Grove worshipped by the elite is also named Moloch and Astaroth (Lord Treasurer of Hell). The hexagram also symbolized Saturn, which has been identified as the mystical name for “Satan.” This would mean that anyone murdered in the name of Israel was in reality an offering to Satan.

This statement showcases the true mission of the Rothschilds. It was their objective to eradicate all competition and establish their own global monopoly.
On July 4th 1962, the 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy, held a speech at Independence Hall, in which he mocked the Declaration of Independence and states that the Constitution, “stressed not Independence but Interdependence.”

In 1973, Gary Allen, wrote a book called, None Dare Call It Conspiracy, which states, “One major reason for the historical blackout on the role of the international bankers in political history is the Rothschilds were Jewish… ….The Jewish members of the conspiracy have used an organisation called The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) as an instrument to try and convince everyone that any mention of the Rothschilds and their allies is an attack on all Jews. In this way they have stifled almost all honest scholarship on international bankers and made the subject taboo within universities. Any individual or book exploring this subject is immediately attacked by hundreds of ADL communities all over the country. The ADL has never let the truth or logic interfere with its highly professional smear jobs… ….Actually, nobody has a right to be more angry at the Rothschild clique than their fellow Jews… ….The Rothschild empire helped finance Adolf Hitler.”
IBM was controlled by the Rothschilds through their employee, George J. Laurer. IBM creates the UPC (Universal Product Code) barcode, which is placed upon every product traded worldwide. IBM’s UPC barcode bears the mark of the beast, 666. Everything bought or sold is therefore the mark of the beast.
The Book of Revelation 13:17 says, “No man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”
The Churchill Falls power plant in Newfoundland, Canada, is finished. N. M. Rothschild & Sons of London, adds an asset management company, called the Rothschild Private Management Limited, which traded globally. Today this company is know as Rothschild & Co.

George W. Bush, becomes the 43rd President of the United States in the year 2000. Bush and his family declare they are the ancestors of the House of Plantagenet, whose linage stems from the Royal House of Judah.
The September 11th attack of the Twin Towers was arranged by the United States, Britain, and Israel, through an order received from the Rothschilds. It was their goal to gain security and control over the world, while simultaneously eliminating the liberty of people globally. The Rothschild’s terrorist attack allowed them to gain power over nations who refused to build a central Rothschild bank. One of these 7 nations was Afghanistan, (at the time a nation without R. Bank, but 9/11 changed this.)
They also will use the attacks to gain control of the few nations in the world who don’t allow Rothschild central banks and so less than one month after these attacks, US forces attack Afghanistan, one of only 7 nations in the world who don’t have a Rothschild controlled central bank.
A week before the twin tower attack, the Zim Shipping Company, located in the World Trade Centers, break their lease and leave behind their work station. No explanation has been given, but it is know that the Zim Shipping Company is half owned by the State of Israel, which is owned by The Rothschilds.
In the year 2003, Iraq (Ancient Babylon), is one of the last six nations left that who don’t have a central bank owned by the Rothschilds. The war in Iraq was mostly about robbing their water sources for Israel. Israel has always struggled for water. Water is rare in Israel, so to them water is far more valuable than the oil reserves, which happen to be the second largest oil reserves on the globe.
In 2006, the Edmond De Rothschild Banque a secondary branch of the Edmond De Rothschild bank in France, is the first foreign bank to acquire authorization of the China to enter China’s economic market.

2020.11.24 22:20 LovingLife177 This was going to be another future FB post but DW issued cease and desist orders because some of my past posts have ruffled the feathers of some of our TBM family and friends. I guess their faith is too sensitive to be questioned.
In my opinion, when someone exercises faith in something, he/she is making the assumption that something is true without 100% proof. After all, if you have 100% proof that something is true, then you aren’t really exercising faith. In other words, faith fills in the gap between what we know and what we don’t know so that we feel comfortable taking action on a belief without knowing the outcome 100% ahead of time. Again, this is just my opinion about how faith works. I would love to hear others opinions/descriptions.
Now, since it would be impossible to accurately identify the exact percentage of what we know vs what we don’t know, because it is subjective, I like to use a technique that compares the likelihood of something happening or being true vs something else happening or being true. For example, I would ask myself, “Is it more likely or less likely that I will get in a car accident if I drive to the store for groceries?” Based on driving statistics and my past experience, I can quickly conclude that it is less likely that I will get into a car accident and can move forward with the assumption that I will not get into a car accident and go and get the groceries. Of course, I could be wrong and end up getting into an accident but the evidence strongly supports the belief that I will not get into an accident. So, with the support of that evidence, I can exercise faith that I will not get into an accident. If I decided that it was more likely that I would get into a car accident, I could continue to use this technique to compare alternate scenarios (car accident vs starving to death, etc) until I come to a final conclusion of whether I want to exercise faith that I will not get into a car accident and go and get the groceries.
When it comes to religion, I use this same technique. For example, “is it more likely or less likely that Jesus Christ was a real person that was born around 1 CE?” Based on the evidence that I am aware of, I would conclude that it is more likely that he existed and, in my opinion, I can comfortably exercise faith that he was a real person that lived on this earth. However, just because we choose to exercise faith in something doesn’t automatically make that thing true, no matter how much we want it to be true. That is why, in my opinion, it is very important to determine how much faith we are willing to exercise in a belief relative to the amount of evidence that supports or contradicts that belief.
When it comes to the LDS church specifically, I have asked myself many questions using the “based on the evidence available today, is it more likely or less likely that [insert specific LDS belief or historical claim] is true” method.
Which is more likely, that multiple civilizations mentioned in the Book of Mormon (BoM), consisting of millions of people, associated with various cultures, set in numerous geographically distinct cities, existed on the American continent, but have oddly left no evidence for their existence, or that Joseph Smith made it up?
Which is more likely, that all of the anachronistic things mentioned in the BoM (horses, cattle, oxen, sheep, swine, goats, elephants, bees, wheels, chariots, wheat, silk, steel, and iron) really did exist here on the American continent during the BoM timeline, but have oddly left no evidence of their existence, or that Joseph Smith made it up?
The BoM teaches that the Nephites had horses and chariots. The earliest examples of wheels are from Mesopotamia and date from about 3500 to 3000 BC. Lehi and his party obviously would have had knowledge of the wheel. Since there is no evidence of the wheel in the Americas during the BoM timeframe, is it more likely that Lehi and his party brought knowledge of the wheel to the American continent from Israel around 600 BC but that knowledge was lost over time through the Native American cultures and any archeological or DNA evidence to support this claim has disappeared? Or, is it more likely that Lehi and his party did not come to the Americas from Jerusalem around 600 BC and that the American Natives actually originated from Asia during a human migration across the Bering land bridge about 20,000 years ago before the wheel was invented, as supported by archaeological and DNA evidence?
With the Native American DNA evidence of Asian (not Israeli) decent, the anachronisms, the lack of archeological evidence, the translation vs dictation method issues, the reformed Egyptian characters issues, the evidence of influence of other contemporary writings, problems with the Jaredite story, problems with the Tower of Babel story, problems with the Global Flood story, the thousands of corrections made to the BoM after being declared “the most correct of any book on earth”, and the unreliability of the BoM Witnesses’ testimonies, it is more likely that the BoM really is a historical record of God’s dealings with ancient Israelites (Jaredites, Lehites, and Mulekites) on the American continent despite all these identified issues, or that Joseph Smith made it up?
Joseph Smith claimed to have translated the BoM, Book of Abraham (BoA), the Kinderhook plates, claimed to identify a dictionary of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics, and claimed to have corrected errors in the Bible through inspired translation (JST). We have the original documents for the BoA and the Kinderhook plates and both of those translations have been proven false and both are acknowledged by the Church. We also have historical evidence supporting the misidentification of a greek psalter as a dictionary of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics, also acknowledged by the church, as well as evidence that Joseph Smith plagiarized some of Adam Clarke’s Bible commentary and passed it off as his own work in JST Bible according to a recent BYU study. We also have Joseph Smith’s claim of being able to speak Egyptian completely debunked by modern Egyptologists. With a proven 5/6 fraud record for “translations”, is it more likely that Joseph Smith produced a correct “translation” with the BoM or another fraud, especially when considering the Native American DNA evidence of Asian (not Israeli) decent, anachronisms, lack of archeological evidence, translation vs dictation methods, reformed Egyptian characters, influence of other contemporary writings, problems with the Jaredite story, problems with the Tower of Babel story, problems with the Global Flood story, the thousands of corrections made to the BoM after being declared “the most correct of any book on earth”, and the questionable reliability of the BoM Witnesses’ testimonies?

2020.11.24 14:10 RuloMercury Stalling the Rise of Islam - An Egyptian Tale
| || | submitted by RuloMercury to eu4 [link] [comments]
The date is September 14th, 654. The Rashidun Caliphate has called for a Jihad against the Kingdom of Egypt. The world as we all know it trembles, for this is the first Great War. https://preview.redd.it/pu4y9oh2h6161.jpg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1ee908268ba9af0a2da1c0dc704b795b00f05de3
Many of you know the Extended Timeline mod. From year 2 to 9999, you can play as long as you want and go through an abnormally large amount of historical moments, shaping the world as you wish. Now, I'm a man of long campaigns and many historical "what-ifs"
, so I decided to go for a Kush into Egypt run, starting at year 58 (Roman-Parthian war). I expanded decisively, feasting on Roman decadence to incorporate legitimate Egyptian soil, and spent a couple centuries in peace, developing Nilotic land and holding the Parthian threat at bay.
But then Islam came.
For those who haven't played on year 627, ET developed some mechanics meant to help the Rashidun Caliphate reach their historical might. Not only do they carry the powerful Caliphate government reform
for as long as they exist, but they also have a 50-year grace period called the Rise of Islam
. And yes, all those numbers are very real. Not only that, but they AI has an event that pops every time they've been up to 6 months at peace with the Rise of Islam buff on, forcing them to declare war on a neighbor they're on a truce with.
By the year 654, I was their only available choice. As seen in the image above, I had three allies with me: the powerful Satavahana dynasty, the nomadic tribes of distant Xiongnu and Animist Tunisia, plus a small march in Israel. Rashidun weren't alone either; despite being a menace to all civilization and Great Power number 1 with over 1000 development, they had the mighty Caucasian Albania by their side, who had taken over the Pontic Steppes and some parts of Eastern Europe, while also counting on a small Shirvan to aid them in Persia. https://preview.redd.it/5zwijd5en6161.jpg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b042c8d8970e3f74da7af19728a7f1238aae7d2c
The idea was clear from the start: we can't fight the Caliphate's troops. They're too many and too strong, and as a Jihad's war goal is to show superiority, every battle lost would cost us dearly. So I laid behind my Suez fort, waiting for my powerful but distant allies to arrive. Their journey took over a year, but Israeli structures were strong, and by 656 AD the Albanian countryside was collapsing
. On an attempt to fight both fronts, Caliphate troops went north and left only Albanian armies in my land. A costly mistake.
By January 658 AD, Albania was out of the war. No land could be taken from them due to a lack of frontiers, but 1300 ducats was enough to keep my allies' economies solid throughout the war. Or so I thought, for the war was getting very long, and marching from Mongolia to Arabia was proving expensive for Xiongnu, who decided to white peace
on November 660 AD. A tough loss, but it also showed that they weren't the only ones getting tired of this war. On January 2nd 661 AD, Shirvan asked for white peace
without suffering a single occupation. And only eighteen days later, the mighty Caliphate asked for the same null treatment
Usually, a white peace isn't something to get excited for in EU4. Experience and strategic depth can show you that almost all wars can be turned around and won, and even the toughest odds can be built from to reach success. But when going for a role-play game, there is some level of thrill on wondering how are you gonna turn around said situations when push comes to shove. And in this case, Egypt were far outclassed in battle, but far superior in the battlefield, meaning no inch of land was lost to the Rashidun.
Or so I thought. https://preview.redd.it/vshncr2as6161.jpg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8f3b5176110eb868100944b4e4caef585985f898
As it turns out, a province occupied for at least 5 months by a country with the Rise of Islam modifier can actually defect to the Caliphate
and automatically gain them a core, leaving you with a bad taste on your mouth if you didn't protect all your frontier properly.
Oh well, it seems we'll have to launch a crusade...
2020.11.24 07:30 InternetFreedomIn Security incidents and the Personal Data Protection Bill. Need to do more and do better.

India has witnessed a spate of cyber security incidents in recent times, with the recent Big Basket leak being the latest high profile example. As more and more enterprises begin to adopt work-from-home policies, it is imperative that digital security is accorded the importance it deserves by beefing up the legislative framework for it. This would involve strengthening Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019.
Recent Data Breaches
On 9th November, various news portals
reported that the online grocery delivery platform BigBasket had experienced a massive data breach involving the information of around 2 crore users on 30th October. While the company said that financial data was secure, information such as full names, passwords, contact numbers, addresses, date of birth, IP addresses, and locations had been hacked and were being sold online.
This was just the latest in a spate of many recent hacks in India. According to the Indian government, 2019 witnessed 1,05,849 cyber security incidents
(including phishing, network scanning and probing, virus / malicious code and website hacking) in just the first five months. 2019 and 2020 (til August) saw 54 and 37
Central and state government websites hacked respectively. Leaks in Aadhar data, banking data, and credit card information have also increased. Even nuclear plants, such as the one in Kudankulam, have been shown to be vulnerable
. Below, we will discuss examples of large sectors from across different sectors.
- Banking: In January 2019, an SBI server in Mumbai was shown to be unsecured and vulnerable, exposing the data of millions of its customers. The server was not password protected, and so information such as account balances, mobile numbers, and even account numbers were effectively on display. SBI secured the server soon afterwards, but this incident emphasised the need for improving digital infrastructure in the banking sector.
- Aadhaar: The World Bank and certain digital security firms reported that in 2018 the Aadhar data of citizens was being sold online, with almost a billion users being affected in just the first few months of 2018. These leaks were a mixture of overt hacks and unprotected servers or leaky government websites. For example, in 2019 the Jharkhand government's website displayed the Aadhar details of around 100,000 government workers.
- Whatsapp Pegasus: In 2019, it was reported the Israeli firm NSOs software Pegasus was being used to spy on 19 individuals, including journalists and human rights activists. By hacking into their devices via a simple missed call, the attackers gained complete access to the individual's data, including locations, passwords, and even the ability to turn cameras and microphones on.
- Healthcare: In 2019, a US cybersecurity firm reported that an unnamed Indian healthcare website was hacked, with the hackers stealing the data of 68 lakh patients and doctors. The stolen information included patient details, patient case history, doctor information, and other personal information.
- Credit and debit cards: In October 2019, a Singapore based cybersecurity firm reported that 13 lakh credit and debit card details had been stolen, and were now on sale online. It ws reported that it was likely that this data stolen by placing a magentic stripe in an ATM that was able to copy the information of the user's card.
Furthemore, as the COVID-19 pandemic necessitates the greater usage of the work-from-home set-up, enterprises too feel that digital infrastructure has to be upgraded to deal with new security challenges, as 66% of Indian firms have reported at least one data breach
since they shifted to working from home. Given that organisations faced a cost of Rs. 14 crore on average per data breach
in 2019-20, it is clear that data security processes need further tightening and regulation.
PDPB in context
The Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019 (PDPB) contains several clauses relating to security and breaches. For example, Clause 24 of the PDPB asks data fiduciaries and data processors to implement safeguards for several purposes, including "to prevent misuse, unauthorised access to, modification, disclosure or destruction of personal data". Clause 25 deals the breach of personal data breaches. The clause states that in cases where a data breach may cause harm to the data principal, the data fiduciary must inform the proposed Data Protection Authority, but informing the data principal has not been mandated
. It is then left to the Authority to decide: a) whether the data fiduciary must inform the data principal
, b) the remedial action the data fiduciary must undertake, and c) the details of the data breach that can be made public.
Further, Clause 50 states that the Data Protection Authority may specify codes of practice for data processors and data fiduciaries, including any security standards have to be maintained as required by Clause 24.
Currently in review with the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019, the bill is going through a clause-by-clause consultation as per media reports. However, questions have been raised over the conduct of the committee. Parliamentarian Derik O'Brien has written a letter
saying "It is of serious concern that the committee is considering clause by clause consideration of the contents of the Bill before completing its consultation with the stakeholders
" as reported in the Hindu. Concerns have also been raised about a lack of engagement with tech policy groups and civil society.
While certain provisions are welcome, they may not adequately address the issues. India faces the twin problems of low capacity levels and weak and unsecure infrastructure. As witnessed in several instances, attackers may not even have to encounter a basic firewall to access personal data, while even those firms which do have a relatively better security infrastructure remain susceptible to attacks. Thus, it is imperative that the regulatory framework for security be robust.
To this end, a private member Bill
(the Personal Data and Information Privacy Code Bill, 2019) introduced by MP D. Ravikumar may provide solutions. For example, clause 19(3) says that prior to disclosure data controllers must explicitly inform the data subject about "the security practices and other safeguards, if any, to which personal data shall be subject to
". The bill also guarantees data subjects the right to be informed about any breaches of their personal information, and also asks organisation to designate privacy officers to ensure security compliance.

2020.11.23 15:49 partypastor Reached People Group of the Week - Koreans of South Korea
Its that time of year again, when we are forced to sit at a table and tell our families things we are thankful for. But what I am thankful for is groups that became reached after thousands of years of being unreached. Today we are doing a rather obvious one, the Koreans. I'm posting this one because South Korea sends the second highest number of missionaries around the world, how awesome is that?? And up until around 1800 they never had access to the Gospel. How were they reached?
Catholicism was first introduced during the late Joseon Dynasty period by Confucian scholars who encountered it in China. In 1603, Yi Gwang-jeong, Korean diplomat, returned from Beijing carrying several theological books written by Matteo Ricci, an Italian Jesuit missionary to China. He began disseminating the information in the books, and the first seeds of Christianity were sown. In 1758, King Yeongjo of Joseon officially outlawed Catholicism as an "evil practice." Catholicism was reintroduced in 1785 by Yi Seung-hun and since then French and Chinese Catholic priests were invited by the Korean Christians.
Joseon royalty saw the new religion as a subversive influence and persecuted its earliest followers in Korea, culminating in the Catholic Persecution of 1866, in which 8,000 Catholics across the country were killed, including nine French missionary priests. The opening of Korea to the outside world in the late nineteenth century brought religious toleration for the remaining Catholics and also introduced Protestantism via American missionaries, beginning in 1884. The first Protestant church in Korea was established by Seo Sang-ryun and the first Protestant missionary to enter Korea was Horace Newton Allen, both events occurring in 1884. Horace Allen was a North Presbyterian missionary who became an American diplomat. He served in Korea until 1905, by which time he had been joined by many others.
The growth of both denominations was gradual before 1945. In that year, approximately 2% of the population was Christian. Rapid growth ensued after the war, when Korea was freed from Japanese occupation by the Allies: by 1991, 18.4% of the population (8.0 million) was Protestant, and 6.7% (2.5 million) was Catholic. Wikipedia
And then this
The Christian missionaries who arrived in the 1800s and following have contributed much to the health, education, and general well-being of the South Koreans. Christians were vocal in their support of the liberation of the Korean peninsula from imperialist Japan. The establishment of schools, hospitals, orphanages, and universities by the Christians paved the way for the modernization of South Korea. Joshua Project
It is estimated that 30% of Koreans in South Korean are Christian!! What are they like? Typical qualification that all people groups can't be summed up in small paragraphs and this is an over generalization.
South Korea boasts Asia's third largest economy. Exports of electronics, automobiles, and machinery allow the country to afford many conveniences of the modern world. High rates of cable and/or satellite television usage and high-speed internet connectivity make South Korean a member of the cutting edge technology users of the world. The country is also credited with pioneering the television via mobile devices and internet revolution. History Lesson
Distinct regional differences in culture and politics exist among the South Koreans. The most important regional difference is between the Gyeongsang region in the southeast and the Jeolla region in the southwest. The two regions maintain a rivalry that reaches back to the fourth century AD. The rivalry originated from a struggle for control of the peninsula. Interregional marriages are rare and travel between the regions in sparce despite a major highway connecting the regions since 1984. Constructed for the specific reason of increasing interregional travel, the highway has not served to improve visitation or commerce between the regions.
The political power elite have come largely from the Gyeongsang region and, consequently, this region has benefitted most from government development assistance. In contrast, the Jeolla region has remained comparatively rural and undeveloped.
Regional stereotypes, like regional dialects, have been breaking down under the influence of centralized education, nationwide media, and several decades of population movement since the Korean War. Stereotypes remain important in the eyes of many South Koreans however. Each region has its own stereotypical beliefs about the other regions. These beliefs may or may not be based in truth and accuracy. Joshua Project
The Korean Peninsula was inhabited as early as the Lower Paleolithic period. The history of Korea begins with the founding of Joseon (also known as "Gojoseon", or Old Joseon, to differentiate it with the 14th century dynasty) in 2333 BCE by Dangun, according to Korea's foundation mythology. Gojoseon was noted in Chinese records in the early 7th century. Gojoseon expanded until it controlled the northern Korean Peninsula and parts of Manchuria. Gija Joseon was purportedly founded in the 12th century BCE, but its existence and role have been controversial in the modern era. In 108 BCE, the Han dynasty defeated Wiman Joseon and installed four commanderies in the northern Korean peninsula. Three of the commanderies fell or retreated westward within a few decades. As Lelang commandery was destroyed and rebuilt around this time, the place gradually moved toward Liaodong. Thus, its force was diminished and it only served as a trade center until it was conquered by Goguryeo in 313. Wikipedia What do they believe?
The dominant religions of South Korea are Christianity and Buddhism despite the fact that most of the population express no particular affiliation with a religion. South Korea has the third largest number of professing Christians of all the East Asian and Southeast Asian countries. How can we pray for them?
There is a great deal of ambiguity in the practice and adherence to the belief systems that exist in South Korea. Many people see religion as an inherited trait as much or more so than a faith. Also, many South Koreans practice elements of several belief systems. Christianity is the only faith that maintains distinct lines between those who belong to the belief system. For the other religions, it can be difficult if not impossible to know who practices what.
The Korean Church has had amazing growth in numbers and influence. It was founded on sound indigenous principles, blessed with a succession of revivals, refined by persecution and is now one of the foremost in the world for missions vision. Its presence is highly visible; every level of society has been impacted and growth has been remarkable. Of the 11 largest mega-congregations in the world, 10 are in the one city of Seoul. Seoul also hosts the largest Pentecostal, Presbyterian and Methodist congregations in the world and the second-largest Baptist. With over 15,000 missionaries, the Korean Church sends the second-highest number of cross-cultural workers to other parts of the world. Joshua Project
Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. (Romans 10:1)
- Pray that God will ignite passion for Him and His word in the local Christians.
- Pray they will evangelize the nation with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
- Pray they will spread the gospel and distribute Bibles to oppressed nations in their region.
- Praise God for the amazing missionary vision of the Korean Church. Ask God to continue to raise up Korean missionaries to go to the ends of the earth.
- Thank the Lord for obedient servants who went to preach the Good News
- Thank the Lord for a people group nestled in an area with so much unbelief surrounding it
- Thank the Lord for his constant provision to these people and to the missionaries that reached them.
- Pray for our nation (the United States), that we Christians can learn to come alongside our hurting brothers and sisters and learn to carry one another's burdens in a more Christlike manner than we have done historically.
- Pray that in this time of chaos and panic that the needs of the unreached are not forgotten by the church. Pray that our hearts continue to ache to see the unreached hear the Good News.

2020.11.21 21:22 MarsNirgal [Eurovision] Spain in the 70's to the 90's and some related drama
Here comes part 2: Spain in Eurovision. I was planning to make a post about the 2000's and the previous post and this one would be the introduction, but this turned out to be rather long and I haven't even had a proper breakfast, so that will be for the next post for sure. Likely. Hopefully.
Here's a quick FAQ that you may need:
The Gay Olympics An international music contest in which most countries in Europe and some not in Europe take part.
- EBU: European Broadcasting Union, an international body made by many national broadcasters that organizes Eurovision and sets its rules.
- TVE - Radiotelevisión Española, the Spanish national broadcasters that represents Spain at Eurovision.
- National selection: The process in which a national broadcaster selects their representative to Eurovision every year.
- Internal selection: When a national broadcaster directly designs an artist to represent them, without anyone but the higher-ups there having any say.
- National final: When a national broadcaster holds a competition with several artists trying to go to Eurovision. Usually the public gets a vote to decide who goes.
- Juries: Panels of alleged music experts who vote, both in Eurovision and in national finals.
- Televote: Vote by the public, usually done by phone/SMS and in some cases by internet, both in Eurovision and in national finals.
If you want a more in-detail explanation about Eurovision, you can find it at the beginning of my previous post.
At the end of that post we had left Spain (and the rest of Europe) in 1970, tangled in the aftermath of an unforeseen four-way tie. There was not that much drama during the next thirty years, but there is enough to make a summary post of all that happened: Spain placed second in 1971
losing to Monaco. And since there was no drama involving pain, let's talk about Monaco. Severine, the winner in 1971
, was French. Now, the Eurovision rules don't state that the singers representing a country have to be nationals of that country, and Monaco was never represented by a Monegasque national because they're a super-small country and most of their population aren't even nationals. (Actually, Monaco is so tiny that they were unable to host the contest. They are the only country that has won the contest and never hosted it)
(That's not so unusual. Luxembourg was also represented by foreign singers in 29 out of their 38 participations, including their five victories, and San Marino has had foreign representatives in over half of their entries including Turkish sex god Serhat
However, there was some drama when she later stated in interviews that she had never even visited Monaco and hadn't been invited to visit it even after winning. Turns out she was wrong. She had recorded a short preview video of the song in Monaco before the contest. Her excuse was that she had forgotten about that. That's how much she cared about the country she was representing.
Also, she never got paid for the song and ended up suing her manager.
Anyway, Spain placed second again in 1973 with "Eres tú" by Mocedades
. This is widely regarded as one of the best, if not the best moment of Spain in Eurovision. In a retrospective made in 2005 it was named one of the 14 best songs in the contest history, beating the 1973 winner
But of course, there was drama. There was an accusation that the song was plagiarizing the Yugoslavian entry of 1966, Brez Besed
. I have to admit there is a lot of similarity there and the accusations may have some substance. There was a lot of talk about it, but since copyright laws were not as well established, eventually it all boiled down to nothing. Spain placed second AGAIN in 1979 with "Su canción" by Betty Missiego
. Now, there was not really drama here but I still think you may enjoy it. First of all, the winner was Hallelujah, representing Israel
, which has become an Eurovision myth in its own right.
But the way it happened is what made this good. See, this was happening under the classic Eurovision voting system, that started being used in 1975. Under this system, each country awards points to their top 10 favourite countries: tenth place receives one point, ninth place two points, and so on until the third place receives eight points, then the second place receives ten points (not nine), and the first place receives twelve points. With some modifications about how the points have been determined or announced, this was in place from 1975 to 2015.
This was a two horse race with Spain and Israel leading, and when all countries but two had voted Israel was leading with one point (107 to 106). Then Austria gave eight points to Israel and ten to Spain which left them leading the scoreboard 116 points, with Israel barely behind at 115 points, so everything was up to the last country voting, which was... Spain.
In Eurovision, you're not allowed to vote for yourself, so Spain couldn't give themselves any points. This means if they gave any points at all to Israel, Israel would win (even giving them one point and tying the tie-breaker would decide in favour of Israel).
And then Spain did it. They gave Israel ten points, handing them the victory. Here you can see it happen.
. The uproar has a lot to do also with the fact that Israel was hosting because they had won the previous year. Winning twice in a row is a pretty rare feat and has only happened four times in the history of the contest (we already mentioned Spain in '68 and '69, Luxembourg did it in '72 and '73, Israel in '78 and '79, and most recently Ireland in '92, '93 and '94.)
Now, hosting the contest can be a bit troublesome and expensive (even back then when it was done at a much smaller scale), to in 1980 Israel declined to host. Spain as the runner up also declined, and eventually the contest was celebrated in The Hague, Netherlands. As of 2020, this was the last time that the contest was not celebrated in the country that won the year before.
Also, the date the Dutch chose for the contest clashed with the Israeli Day of Remembrance and eventualy they decided not to participate. This has been the only time in the history of the contest that the winning country didn't take part the next year.
Instead we got the debut of Morocco
. Most Arabic countries have very tense relationships with Israel and a lot of them have laws that ban the broadcast of any Israeli content. On the other hand, the EBU insists that any country that takes part in Eurovision broadcasts the entirety of the contest, so as long as Israel is participating, most Arabic countries are unable to, which is why they seized the chance to do it in a year where Israel wasn't there.
Lebanon attempted to do the same in 2005 (This would have been their song
and I fucking LOVE IT), but when they were unable to guarantee that they would show the Israeli entry they were disqualified before the contest began and issued a three year ban. No other Arabic country has made a serious attempt to enter Eurovision ever since.
But I digress, let's return to Spain. They placed last in 1983 with Remedios Amaya and "Quién maneja mi barca"
with zero points. Under the current voting system, that means that a song failed to land in the top ten of all participating countries and it's not so common (although Norway managed to do it five times).
The only other point of drama worth a mention happened in 1990, when they were represented by Azúcar Moreno, a duet of sisters that sang "Bandido". Here's what happened and you can find the explanation below
This was a time when Eurovision was starting to move away from live music, and it was allowed to use backing tracks to complement the sound of the orchestra. What happened here was that one of the backing tracks started out of sync with the rest of the music and with the orchestra, and the singers didn't know what to do so they just left the stage confused. Props to the guitarist that kept on moving with the music trying to pretend that everything was normal, and to the public who clapped like "Yes, that was it. Nice. Who's next?".
Then the technicians checked the issue and fixed it in two minutes (for reference, the song was three minutes long) and they restarted and gave a pretty solid performance, and eventually placed fifth.
Spain would place second again in 1995
, this time without drama, and last again in 1999 with a single point, again without drama although she won an unofficial award to the worst dressed artist of the year. And was pretty much deserved.
So this is where I was supposed to start talking about what I originally was going to talk, but (in the words of Scherezade) if the king spares my life for another night, I will continue this story.

2020.11.21 17:17 VacationLucifer A lot of clues but the big picture still eludes you? Do you have that feeling that something will go off soon on a massive scale but it's just outside your grasp? Do you want to be prepared for scenario A, B... all the way to Z? Have no fear - have understanding instead.
First of all, don't expect that I predict the future. I am a mathematician and a psychologist and I use logic and observation, so instead of being afraid of what can or will happen, I do the best that I can with what I have.
So, let's review what changed in the past years and months, so we can understand how our enemy moves.
- One world control of finances - By overpowering the last place where a non-Rothschild bank operated (North Korea), the zionists have obtained a total control over the finances of all countries. Or did you really believe that North Korea is and does what the corrupt media tells you? North Korea threatens the most powerful military in the world with a war - do you really believe that? Or Iraq, Lybia, Afghanistan, Syria, Palestine and the many more where US troops go to kill (never Israel though). Use logic and review how many wars has the US created to overpower what is left of the free people and expand Israeli territory - Land granted by whom? and How Palestine disappeared from the map. Now, the whole world is ready for the next step.
- Suppying India with weaponry at unbelievable scale for a potential war with China mainly from the US and Russia - From October, 2019 until now - 10 deals with India. A conflict between India and China already exists at the territory of Ladakh - US version, Indian version. Wars cost lives and be sure that there will be no zionists affected by it.
- 5G towers built throughout the world - 5G current map, another source of 5G map, just a change in the scenary - is that how much the removal of 3-4 seconds of delay to load a page costs? November, 2019 - China launches full 5G network - does the date align with the news of a virus from the same country? Hmmm, let's keep this information for now in our memory and stay on point. Now, 5G towers can provide very high speed and practically unlimited connections simultaneously. What possibilities can such towers offer? RF Identification Chip (all official patents provided with links), Neuralink, Chip implants already being applied in Sweden and the US - yes, they insert the chip with a syringe under your skin. Do you see the logic why Bill Gates with 0 medical background is now the guru of vaccination? Robots - Sophia, the first robot with a citizenship and the scariest things A.I. robots have said, drones, facial recognition and the government can follow your every move, and New world order... oh, sorry, One World Currency, as presented by some of the rich criminals - The rich guys talk about helping poverty. Use logic now - 5G is not created for you, it is created for all their toys they have developed and will soon release.
- Covid 19 or COrona VIrus Disease or Certificate of Vaccination Identification (check below*) - If Covid means Coronavirus, where does the "d" come from? Just a logical question - why would an experiences doctor advise against covid? Many doctors are speaking out against covid while the media shows us numbers and wants us to believe them and not certified doctors? Are these doctors mad? How about this one? Or this? How about the expert who was fired, kept in jail without trial, kept fighting for her carrier but was removed by dr. Fauci but kept working to inform the public and helped create the documentary Plandemic 2? When did we start believing in media rather than doctors? Are all these doctors working for satan while Bill Gates is the good guy who wants to put 6-7 vaccines which, in his own words, could be insufficient? Use logic - doctors know the negative effects of new vaccines while, should I say coincidently, the RFID chip is injected via a vaccine? More logic - your organism is your best defence against any virus, not vaccines. See how vaccines work and that they rely on the immune system to create anti-bodies, with the exception of the vaccines against polio which killed many Indian and African children. Bill Gates is not a doctor, he is a sponsor. Another source. Victims in Sudan from a vaccine. Victims in India due to the vaccine. Another source. Conclusion - I will take my chances with breathing fresh air before I let a rich guy inject me with 6-7 or more vaccines. Would you see the logic here? Or would you rather trust William Henry Gates III or as you know him - Bill Gates? Do you know he made a presentation about a potential killing virus in 2015? What a coincidence, right? The rich guy puts his money on something which will make him EVEN RICHER after 5 years? The presentation. Now, does this guy looks trustworthy or like a child who tries to lie to you?
I can form my own opinion and will never get vaccinated by Big Pharma. I trust logic and I form my own opinions. How about you? Would you blindly listen to me or check all the links and form your own opinions? Your choice - it always has been, it always will be. \
Good points have been raised that the meaning is* not proven to be as initially stated by me
*. The abbreviation COVID could also be COrona VIrus Disease, as suggested by some of you. Thank you for the correction and I hope this mistake doesn't affect the rest of the post.*

2020.11.21 15:03 AmericanNewt8 Begun, the Drone Wars have: Turkey, Libya, Syria, the Armenia-Azerbaijan Conflict, and how drones are changing warfare
When you were voting, I studied the drone. When you were having coronavirus, I mastered electronic warfare. While you wasted your days at the firing range in pursuit of vanity, I cultivated force projection. And now that the world is on fire and the barbarians are at the gate you have the audacity to come to me for help.
--Anonymous Redditor, 2016 [translated by AmericanNewt8
A new kind of warfare has taken the world by storm this year. While most of us were preoccupied with the election, the coronavirus, and the other exciting events that have taken place over this year when decades happen, a small number of people have kept a close watch on distant battlegrounds in the Middle East; where the face of war has changed since January in ways that few would have predicted--and with it the region as a whole.
1. In the Beginning
But let's go back a ways; to the ancient world of circa 1980. Drones were not a new technology in any sense of the word--but they weren't particularly of interest beyond hobbyists, target drones
, and occasional odd military projects like the D-21 reconnaissance drone
. However, things were changing with the introduction of digital cameras and increasingly capable processors and transmitters as computers rapidly developed--and so it was only a matter of time before someone took advantage of that. That someone was the Israelis. Israel has a high level of technical expertise, large defense needs, but a relatively small industrial base, so it often pioneers technologies of this sort, and so it did with the Tadiran Mastiff
This innovation quickly proved to be of significant utility in the First Lebanon War. Besides spotting Yasser Arafat, leader of the PLO, they played a crucial role in the still-infamous "Bekaa Valley turkey shoot"
in which Israeli aircraft supported by UAVs destroyed a massive quantity of top-of-the-line Soviet hardware--almost 90 Syrian aircraft and 29 surface-to-air missile batteries at the total loss of minor damage to a pair of F-15s and one UAV shot down. Electronic warfare and AWACs control also proved crucial in this conflict, which in many ways paved the way for the successes of Desert Storm and the 2003 Iraq invasion; and reportedly shattered the self-confidence of the Soviet Union in its air defenses.
Since that first incident; UAVs have become an increasingly prominent part of the arsenal, particularly of the United States; though Israel and China also manufacture numerous UAVs and theirs are more popular in the export market due to lower prices and fewer scruples about "human rights" or "political stability". UAVs have become key reconnaissance assets and popular for precision-strike counter-insurgency missions. However, neither the United States nor China can claim credit for the latest developments--and Israel, at best, has played a peripheral role. The nation that everyone is watching now is Turkey.
For most of history, Turkey; or at least the geographical area of Anatolia, was a great power of some shape or another. The modern Turkey, however, rejected the idea of empire and foreign adventurism under Ataturk; the father of the Republic. While it has generally tended towards the West--directed in that way both softly by the allure of Europe and drive for modernization; and with great force by the military, which has tended to depose any government that even hinted at reintroducing religious or Middle Eastern aspects back into the aggressively secular Republic, Turkey has not been a particularly major player in the past century. Despite joining NATO for protection against the Soviet Union--which despised Turkey's chokehold on the Bosporous--it never had much appetite for interventionism.
In the era of the "Great Convergence", where nations seem to be returning to historical norms of influence and power, it should be no real surprise then that Turkey has become more assertive. It has grown much wealthier thanks to its association with Europe; and that wealth is actually created by the Turks, not dug up out of the ground like it is in much of the Middle East. It is more educated; more progressive [this of course being a rather relative term] and, importantly, much better at fighting, than most of its neighbors.
Turkey has been working to build a domestic armaments industry with great success
--barring a handful of key items like jet engines which hardly anyone can manufacture well, Turkey can do most things. In between indigenous development and picking up knowledge from South Korea, China, Ukraine, and so on, Turkey has one of the world's better arms industries--I'd say it's about reached the level that South Korea was at ten or twenty years ago, which is pretty good. Its drone program, however, started because of a different problem.
The Turks wanted drones back in the early 2000s for what we in the business call "reasons". Evidently the United States saw through this; because, despite allowing Turkey to license-assemble F-16s and build parts for the F-35, it did not sell Turkey drones for fear that they would be used against the Kurds
[a perception that proved to be correct as Turkey has indeed used its UAVs against Kurdish insurgents]. As a result, Turkey decided to do it themselves, and started building up their own drone program from scratch. By the beginning of 2020, Turkey had a large drone program and advanced electronic-warfare equipment. But nobody was really paying attention to their drone program; it was a sideshow of limited interest compared to the big players, that would presumably be of some utility but not a game-changer. I mean, their premiere drone literally used an engine made for homebuilt aircraft and was the size and weight of a smart car. Nothing too impressive. That is, until January.
The Libyan conflict is a deeply convoluted one that is difficult to explain. In essence; Libya has been in some sort of civil war since Gaddafi was deposed in 2011, but the most recent division is between the GNA, or Government of National Accord--the UN-recognized government of Libya located in Tripoli--and the "Tobruk Government" which acts as a rubber-stamp body for Gaddafi wannabe General Haftar. Haftar started off this year with things looking pretty good. After breaking the second cease-fire agreement in as many years, flush with cash and support from the United Arab Emirates, Russia, and France, Haftar was on the move, pushing for Tripoli itself. It was going to take a while, but nothing could stop Haftar from defeating the ragtag GNA militias.
Nothing, that is, until Turkey unexpectedly showed up because of a completely different dispute over rights to the seas around Cyprus. Libya [the GNA to be precise] was willing to delineate its boundary with Turkey in a way which cut off Greek and Cypriot claims, and, in return, Turkey arrived after a highly contentious vote in the normally placid Turkish Grand National Assembly, with Syrian mercenaries in tow; but also a large number of drones--mostly the Bayraktar TB2
-- and KORAL land-based standoff jammers
What happened next was a deep humiliation for Russia in particular. Russia and the UAE had supplied General Haftar with a number of its premiere short-range air defense system, the much-vaunted Pantsir
which was designed to shoot down UAVs, cruise missiles, and other small munitions. Unfortunately, the Pantsir proved much worse at shooting down Turkish drones than serving as target practice for them. Estimates suggest 23 systems were destroyed
[Turkey even captured one system and presumably picked it apart for intelligence] while perhaps ~16
Bayraktar TB2 drones were destroyed--which doesn't sound terrible until one remembers that those drones caused significantly more destruction than the air-defense systems and come in at a third of the price; and becomes even less favorable when one realizes that as the conflict went on the ratio flipped increasingly in favor of the Turks. Ultimately, the Turks achieved their goal, with Haftar being pushed back to Sirte and another cease-fire agreement being signed. This conflict, however, has contributed significantly to the increasing rift between France and Turkey, and their respective relations with Russia.
Russia likes to test its luck--to see what exactly it can get away with. Invading Crimea, shooting down a civilian airliner, attempting to murder exiles with Novichok. Often, it does get away with it. But when nations actually push back, they often find great weakness--for instance, the infamous incident where Americans killed 200 Russian "mercenaries" in Syria
after Russia denied they were Russian soldiers, or when American cyberwarriors shut down Russian trolls during the 2018 election
. Nowhere is this more illustrated than in Syria, where, early this year, a "Syrian" airstrike killed 29 Turkish soldiers
even though Russian involvement was an open secret.
What followed was not the usual vague condemnation and angry letter-writing that one might have expected. Instead, Turkey responded with a substantial escalation of force, again largely done by drones. Ultimately, around 200 Syrian government soldiers were killed in this short offensive--along with 45 tanks, 33 artillery pieces, 33 transport/utility vehicles, 20 armored vehicles, a pair of Su-24 aircraft that attacked a Turkish drone, and several SAM systems, which again proved largely ineffective against Turkish drones. While the conflict stopped before it went any further, the lesson was clear: Turkey was willing to escalate beyond where Russia was willing or able to respond, and there wasn't anything they could do about it.
Besides having a nice moral--extremely hard pushback is the best way to respond to Russian provocation, because they aren't expecting it and can't fight back since they lack effective escalation methods
--this conflict proved again that Turkish drones were highly effective even against a state actor [albeit a weak one, like Syria]. The world watched--but nowhere else as closely as Azerbaijan.
Artsakh is; or perhaps more aptly was,
an Armenian state--not recognized by any other state--within the borders of the former Azerbaijan SSR. It emerged out of the First Nagorno-Karabakh War, one of the nastier conflicts resulting from the breakup of the Soviet Union. In short; the Soviet Union put an ethnically Armenian area in the Azerbaijan SSR that was semi-autonomous; called Nagorno-Karabakh, that Armenians viewed as rightfully part of Armenia. When the Soviet Union broke apart--even before it had done so completely--Armenia and Azerbaijan were already engaging in low-level fighting; and in scenes reminiscent of the Partition of 1949, Azeris living in Armenia fled the country--as did their Armenian counterparts in Azerbaijan.
Then, as the Soviet Union properly collapsed, both sides geared up for war. The Soviet Union had left quite a lot of stuff lying around as it collapsed; and Azerbaijan ended up with the bulk of it due to the disposition of Soviet forces. Both sides bought black-market weapons and armaments from conscript soldiers in the confusion of the the collapse. And then they went to war.
The result was a years-long, brutal conflict that killed tens of thousands of people--in two relatively small countries--and, despite Azerbaijan having more equipment, more men, and more foreign support--from Turkey, which never had much love for Armenia and was building ties with the Turkic peoples of Central Asia [of whom the Azeris are one], and from Israel, who saw a potential new partner in a dangerous region. Armenia had some support from Russia, largely due to connections through a shared religion, nervousness about the Turks, and feelings among the Russian elite that were more sympathetic to Armenia.
However, against all odds, the Armenians emerged victorious. In 1994, with the Armenians poised to break out of the mountains and attack the heart of Azerbaijan, and Azerbaijan exhausted from years of war, a cease-fire was signed.
From that day onwards; both nations began preparing for the return of conflict. It was only a matter of time. Armenia had not only taken Nagorno-Karabakh, they had taken large portions of ethnically Azeri land as well, including sites that were of paramount cultural and historical importance to the Azeris. They also engaged in ethnic cleansing, and to this day Azerbaijan, at least nominally, has hundreds of thousands of refugees from the conflict.
In the intervening years, however, things changed. In particular; Turkey rose to a newfound regional prominence, and Azerbaijan, though being careful to always maintain a measure of proximity to Russia sufficient to not cause its rulers concern, slowly drifted towards Turkey and Israel. Ties with Turkey stretched to a mutual defense agreement. Ties to Israel included offering potential basing in Azerbaijan
, the sale of oil [not many nations would sell Israel oil until recently] along with shadowy intelligence connections--Mossad operations in Iran are believed to be launched out of Azerbaijan [for a number of reasons, Iran and Azerbaijan don't like each other very much]. And Azerbaijan, noted for its oil reserves as far back as the Second World War; collected large revenues which it sunk into military spending. Meanwhile, Armenia, despite making large purchases from Russia, fell behind in military readiness, and in its economy--not helped by the fact that, because of a mix of pro-Azeri Turkish policy and Armenian distrust and even hatred of Turkey [thanks to the fact that Turkey argues over whether even discussing "those unfortunate events of 1915" is okay], the Turkish border remains closed--meaning that trade can only go via Iran or Georgia.
Meanwhile, the peace process dithered on, with occasional small skirmishes breaking out. The regular theme was that Armenia would hand over the Azeri-majority [now unoccupied] territory it captured, and Nagorno-Karabakh would, in return, be recognized, or become autonomous, or something of the sort. The Minsk Group led these efforts; though not particularly well--all three members had significant biases. The Russians were pro-Armenian though not anti-Azeri [mostly, they were in favor of the status quo, which favored them], the French were pro-Armenian [on account of disliking Turkey and having a politically influential Armenian population much like the Cubans in Miami], and the Americans were sufficiently pro-Azeri that they created manuals like this
and defending the fictional nation of Atropia [which just happens
to be an oil-rich, pro-Western autocracy that is exactly where Azerbaijan is] against foreign invaders became a meme among the US military
--you can buy "Atropia Veteran"
swag, and it became so transparent that Europeans complained about "defending autocrats" in the exercise and Turkish officials complained that "Limaria" [Armenia] included areas that should have been in "Kemalia" [Turkey].
Ultimately, by 2020, a few things had changed. After victory in clashes in 2016, and purchases of new arms, Azerbaijan was confident that it wouldn't fail due to military incompetence like last time. Armenia had elected a new leader, more distant from Russia [especially since he came to power in a 'color revolution'], complicating any Russian response. Not only that, but Armenia had begun settling in territory that was formerly ethnically Azeri, and had attempted to rewrite history so the land they had taken was somehow always Armenian, making a land swap less tenable--especially after the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh was renamed to the Republic of Artsakh. Domestic protests about a lack of action on the issue further spurred action, but perhaps the most decisive factor was Turkey's drone-fueled rampage and Russia's no good, very bad year elsewhere [from the domestic economy to the chaos in Belarus].
So at the end of September 2020, they went to war.
6. Curb-stomp battle Course of the conflict by Liveuamap
Initially, the war looked like it was serious, but not out of line with previous escalations. Azeri and Armenian forces clashed along the border--but then Azerbaijan made a major incursion along the southern border, which is flat and nearly completely unpopulated, and through the rest of the war pushed through there until they ultimately cut the single road leading to Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenia when they recaptured Shusha. At that point, Armenia capitulated.
While the exact details of why this happened are of relatively little importance, what does matter is what drones did. Armenian air defenses proved completely defenseless against the onslaught of Azerbaijan, with even larger and heavier systems like Russia's S-300 being destroyed by Turkish-manufactured drones. Even the An-2, a literal Soviet 1940s cropdusting biplane, proved lethal to air defenses when rigged with the right equipment
As a result, Azerbaijan swept across Armenian forces with drones, targeting anything larger than a bicycle, destroying tanks, artillery pieces, and surface-to-air-missile systems alike. While initially Azerbaijan didn't advance, they pursued a strategy of attrition against Armenian forces--and were quite successful at it. Nowhere was safe for Armenian infantry--even miles behind the front, drones were still a risk. After a few weeks of this, Azerbaijan began their offensive. This was interrupted by several ceasefires, the most successful of which lasted around fifteen minutes.
In the meantime, Armenia and Azerbaijan engaged in tactics reminiscent of the War of the Cities. Armenians made rocket attacks on Azeri civilian targets, and even ballistic missile strikes with SCUDs and Tokchas against Ganja
, an Azeri metropolis, with later attacks also taking place against Barda and other targets. Virtually all sources agree that Armenia conducted a deliberate policy of targeting civilians in retaliation from the advance of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan, meanwhile, adopted what I would characterize as a callous indifference to Armenian civilian lives. We have relatively little documentation on exactly what they did, but it is likely that major war crimes were committed against Armenian prisoners. However, we do know that rockets and cluster munitions were used against civilian areas of Stepanakert.
By and large, though, Azerbaijan's government is mindful of global sensitivities and would rather avoid making itself a bigger villain than it has to be.
By the first week of November, despite appearances, it had become clear Armenia was losing. While they still held most of the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, Azeri forces were rapidly closing in on the major road [1 of 2] that connects Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia proper. Armenian forces were demoralized and lacked heavy equipment. Civilians fled; with most of the population of Stepanakert, the capital of Nagorno-Karabakh, fleeing before the road was cut. Analysts had few doubts that, within another few weeks, before winter arrived, Azerbaijan could take all of Nagorno-Karabakh.
But fortunately, several factors coincided. First, Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan realized the situation Armenia was in, and presumably began talking about peace. President [and resident dynastic autocrat] of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev had achieved most of the territorial gains he wanted, but as far as I can tell had little to no interest in making his country notorious for what would surely be the ethnic cleansing of tens of thousands of people. Russia was interested in making sure that any
deal possible happened that could salvage its privileged position in the region. And since Azerbaijan had acheived its major goals, Turkey was alright with suing for peace as well.
The final impetus was provided by the Azeris taking Shusha, the second-largest city in the region [and one of tremendous cultural importance to the Azeri people], and, at around the same time, the Azeris accidentally shooting down a Russian attack helicopter on the border.
The ultimate deal was incredibly
favorable to the Azeris, which should be expected given that they could have taken the rest of the region with relative ease. It involved Armenia vacating most of Nagorno-Karabakh
and all the ethnically Azeri land they had taken, bar the Lachin Corridor. Of particular importance to Turkey, and to the Azeri economy, was that the deal created a corridor through Armenia to Azerbaijan's western exclave, and hence to Turkey, for transit. While still an indirect route, it is nowhere near as difficult as traveling around through Georgia. Russia also got to pretend like it still mattered by deploying a few thousand peacekeepers for what seems likely to be a limited time.
Azerbaijan celebrated. As far as anyone was concerned, they had won. Turkey also celebrated--they had, in their view, not only supported the Turkic Azeris in a victory against the Armenians, but also won a battle against Russia to see whom was the real dominant power in the Caucasus. Russia didn't celebrate, but felt that it had at least maintained some sort of influence in the region when initially things looked like they might ultimately sideline Russia entirely. Armenia, however, unsurprisingly, was enraged, and rioters smashed government buildings and forced Prime Minister Pashinyan into hiding; however, it looks like the Armenians realize that they really had no chance of winning and aren't going to resume the conflict.
8. What Now?
In a strange twist of fate, there is some speculation that peace is now more
likely than it was before the war. In particular, some think that Turkey will be interested in finally coming to terms with the Armenians and opening its border with Armenia--which would significantly reduce Russian influence in the region and promote economic development--and some speculate that Azerbaijan may now be willing to make a lasting peace deal since it has, essentially, all that it wants.
This war chronicles one of this year's themes--the decline of Russia, and rise of Turkey. I would expect to see more conflict between them in the future, and I'd expect to see, in a strange historical irony, Turkey coming out on top. Russia has not had a very good year at all and I think this conflict is really just the latest example of how far it has fallen in its military capabilities and political influence despite what Putin shows off.
Small drones are now the obsession of every military planner, as is trying to figure out a way to shoot them down reliably. Already a number of nations have expressed interest in buying the Turkish drones that had such a decisive impact on these conflicts. It seems likely that this will especially transform lower-end conflicts where foreign powers can now intervene without risking more than a few million dollars in equipment, and where local powers can now field their own drones and precision-guided munitions while being, for the moment, largely unopposed.
Whatever the ultimate impact, though, it is undeniable that this change in warfare has been one of the more important and interesting bits of 2020 thus far, though it's behind some truly massive things. Unlike the coronavirus, or Donald Trump, however, these trends are probably with us to stay for a while. I don't think we've heard the last of the drone-warfare revolution yet.

2020.11.20 16:33 Mokrikcv85 Israel nears deal for AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine
Israel has reached an understanding with AstraZeneca AZN.L
to receive about 10 million doses of its experimental COVID-19 vaccine, a joint statement from the Israeli government and the drugmaker said on Friday.
Details of the agreement were being finalised, the statement said, without giving an expected signing date.
An initial supply is expected to arrive in Israel in the first half of 2021, subject to approval by regulatory authorities in Europe, the United States and Israel, the statement said.
The vaccine being developed by AstraZeneca and its partner Oxford University is likely to be a two-dose course of treatment, meaning that 10 million doses would cover more than half of Israel’s population of 9 million.
“This is a historic agreement led by the company’s local representation that will enable access to the vaccine for millions of Israeli citizens,” said Ohad Goldberg, chief executive of AstraZeneca Israel.
Data published on Thursday showed AstraZeneca’s vaccine candidate produced a strong immune response in older adults. Researchers are expected to release late-stage trial results by Christmas.
Israel has cast a wide net in its quest for access to a coronavirus vaccine. It has signed supply agreements with Pfizer PFE.N

2020.11.19 08:27 finnagains “October Surprise” Memories: Gee, Why Can’t Trump Accept Defeat Like the Democrats? - by Ann Coulter - 18 Nov 2020
In 1980, Democratic President Jimmy Carter lost in a landslide to Ronald Reagan, 489-49 in the Electoral College. So naturally, Democrats concluded that Reagan had committed treason in order to steal the election, to wit: His campaign had conspired with Iranian ayatollahs to prevent 52 American hostages from being released until after the election.
And who can blame them? Carter’s economic policies had produced a 21% interest rate, a 17% mortgage rate and a 15% inflation rate in the coveted “hat trick” of presidential incompetence. His brilliant strategic ploy of abandoning the Shah of Iran had led to a 154% spike in oil prices and Islamic lunatics seizing our embassy and holding Americans hostage in Tehran, where they remained for 444 days, until Carter was safely removed from office.
With all that going for them—plus that old Mondale magic –Democrats were dumbstruck that they lost the 1980 election. What other than a dirty trick could explain it?
The Democrats’ theory was that a month before the election, members of Reagan’s campaign had clandestinely met with representatives of the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in Paris and offered to sell him weapons in exchange for a promise not to release the hostages, thus denying Carter a huge election eve triumph.
In other words, liberals believed the Islamo-fascist cutthroats who had been toying with Carter like a cat with a ball of yarn wanted Carter replaced by someone stronger, like Reagan. How else to explain the fact that, minutes after Reagan’s inauguration, the hostages were released?
A more plausible theory was given in a Jeff MacNelly cartoon showing Khomeini reading a telegram aloud: “It’s from Ronald Reagan. It must be about one of the Americans in the Den of Spies, but I don’t recognize the name. It says ‘Remember Hiroshima.’”
The lunatics behind the “October Surprise” conspiracy theory might have spent their days in obscurity, talking to super-computers of the future—as one theorist claimed she did—except that, after a decade of periodic eruptions in in disreputable publications like The New York Times (Flora Lewis, August 1987), The Nation (Christopher Hitchens, July 1987), and Playboy magazine (October 1988), the Times began flogging the story in 1991, beginning with a lengthy op-ed by Columbia University professor Gary Sick.
Sick had been President Carter’s principal aide on Iran during the hostage crisis, which would be like being FDR’s chief adviser on “sneak attacks” in December 1941. Columbia hired Sick as a professor, apparently unable to find Carter’s aide in charge of gas prices.
Soon, other news outlets such as PBS’s “Frontline” and ABC’s “Nightline” began treating crazies howling at the moon as if they were serious intel sources. Carter himself called for a “blue-ribbon” commission to investigate, saying, “it’s almost nauseating to think that this could be true.” (Which is ironic because that was my reaction, word for word, upon learning that Carter had been elected president.)
The theory that Reagan had arranged to keep our hostages in captivity until after the election was originally hatched by Lyndon LaRouche, the second-most ridiculous person named “Lyndon” to ever run for president.
One of the key American “witnesses” to the conspiracy—and Hitchens’ main source—was paranormal expert Barbara Honegger, who said she heard voices from the future and that satellites were directed to part the clouds during Reagan’s inauguration so that the sun would shine only on him. Years later, Honegger promoted the theory that clocks stopped at the Pentagon at 9:32 a.m. on 9/11, proving that the plane could not have hit at 9:37.
So she was a credible source.
Another major player was fake CIA agent Richard Brenneke, who was about to be fired from his lucrative job with a left-wing think tank for failing to substantiate a different conspiracy theory: that Vice President Bush was running an Israeli-backed drugs-for-arms operation in Central America. To stave off his firing, Brenneke suddenly remembered that not only had he heard of the October Surprise, he had been there! A LaRouchite confirmed that he had seen Brenneke at the meeting—something Brenneke himself had not remembered until that very moment.
One by one, each of the Reagan campaign aides allegedly at the imaginary Paris meeting had their precise locations proved for nearly every minute of the crucial dates of Oct. 17-19, when the sources claimed the secret meeting had taken place.
Then it turned out Brenneke wasn’t at the nonexistent meeting, either. Signed credit card receipts proved he was at a Star Trek convention in Seattle on Oct. 17-19. Just kidding! It was a martial-arts tournament.
These were among the nuts behind the “October surprise” fable pushed by the major media and the Democratic Party for more than a decade after Reagan’s trouncing of Carter in 1980. Democratic-led congressional committees spent millions of dollars investigating the nutzo conspiracy theory, eventually concluding there was nothing to it, which I could have told them for say, $300,000.
At the conclusion of the House’s investigation, Rep. Lee Hamilton, the House Democrat who had chaired the October Surprise Task Force, wrote an op-ed in The New York Times, saying: “The task force report concluded there was virtually no credible evidence to support the accusations.”
On the same day, the Times published a rebuttal op-ed by Gary Sick.
And that, kids, is how you concede a presidential election with grace and dignity.

2020.11.19 07:14 blindheathen SCSU FALL AGM Proxy Request
The SCSU AGM is being held on November 26th from 4 PM to 8 PM. It will be held virtually over Zoom.
I encourage all my peers and friends to attend themselves, this is because i believe proxy votes are a way to excuse outreach and not have students attend the AGM themselves.
During my year as VP Equity i did not ask for proxy votes, instead i told everyone to attend if they can. I also encouraged anyone who couldn't attend to give their proxy vote to someone else as I felt as a VP i wanted my influence to be channeled vocally during the AGM and by having as many students as possible attend.
As a student i maintain that stance, however with the pandemic many students are facing unimaginable hurdles and will most likely not be able to attend the AGM.
I want to stress that I only want proxy votes from students who know they 100% cannot make the full AGM.
For those who can only make it for half or some of the meeting, i will be live tweeting what is going to be happening and what is being voted on next so you can step in and vote on the motions that you want to vote on. Follow my twitter u/tebatjasim
, and ill try to post on my Facebook as well.
For registering to attend yourself and to look at the full AGM board package here is the link https://www.scsu.ca/agm
Motions and where I stand on them. Please message me if you want to discuss why I am voting that way. Also please look at the full motions here: https://www.scsu.ca/agm
Please do not hesitate in contacting me by email [[email protected]
) or message me on Facebook.
If you do not agree with me on any of the issues I support or do not support, I understand and i truly encourage you to come to the AGM and voice your opinion, and vote. I know there are people who oppose my stances who are also looking for proxy votes, i can help you find them if you message me. I also want to be clear i reserve the right to be wrong and incorrect with my views, however i will do my best in making the choices and give my support towards motions that i feel are right and that would benefit the student population.
Here is the google form to give me your proxy vote: https://forms.gle/BS2VcGkx9uBqw6BL7
That being said here is where i stand on the motions that will be voted on during the AGM. 1. ELECTORAL EQUITY FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ACT MOTION a. Support 2. IMPLEMENT AN ONLINE VOTING PILOT TO TRANSITION THE SCSUELECTORAL PROCESS INTO A SECURE DIGITAL INTERFACE MOTION. a. Support – I would speak to Chris K. if you have any questions 3. BOYCOTT, DIVESTMENT AND SANCTIONS MOTION a. Want to submit amendments that addresses the restrictive measures on Jewish students to run for office and want to add mechanisms to have anti-Semitism on campus addressed. I also want to ask for a defineition of “normalization of Israeli apartheid and crimes” because last year another student union from UoFT stood against a petition submitted by Hillel UofT that wanted to bring kosher food to campus. As a person who supports Palestinians and their fights for freedom, i must recognize that most of the issues from my world view and understanding stem from elites and terrorists preying on those less powerful then them. Also, I want to say that I am not very knowledgeable on this topic and most of my views stem from the experiences of my peers. 4. DIRECTOR EMPLOYMENT ACT MOTION a. Do not support the notion that meeting attendance should result in directors getting paid. I do support setting a salary for directors for the entire year, as this would mean a stable income. I also know that during my year we gave directors $500 each to spend on an event that is tailored to students they represent. Its not that I do not support paying directors, it that I don not support paying directors based off of their attendance in one meeting every month. 5. AGM QUORUM ACT MOTION – Do not support a. It asks “that every Director of the Union shall ensure that they represent twenty five unique students as proxy so that the Annual General Meeting quorum can be met at all meetings and all Annual General Meetings conducted as planned”. I do not support relying on proxies to meet quorum, as I believe SCSU representatives should focus on outreach and ensuring students attend AGM’s and understand the motions being presented.
7. COMMITTEES OF THE UNION MOTION – Support a. It seeks to add procedural agenda items to committees. i.
- WAGE EQUITY ACT MOTION – Support (But it might be repetitive if we pass ELECTORAL EQUITY FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ACT MOTION).
*I would include the following (what I propose to add has a *) 1. Call to order
* 2. Equity and land acknowledgment
* 3. Approval of the agenda
* 4. minutes of the previous meeting 5. appointments and resignations 6. new business 7. reports and presentations 8. financial statements 9. general business 10. Adjournment
* 8. AODA MOTION – Support a. I support all the BIR clauses; however, I want to add two clauses, b. Be It resolved that every two years the SCSU VP Equity schedule an accessibility audit be done of the SCSU office and the student center to ensure that all students are able to fully and easily access all spaces in the Students Center, i. This audit will be conducted by a professional AODA auditor ie Tina Doyle (manager of the Accessibility Services at UTSC) c. Be It Further Resolved the audit report is posted on the SCSU website every year it is completed. 9. UTSC EWGS a. I do not oppose this motion as I think having an environmental working group would be beneficial to UTSC, but I’m confused with whether this motion is calling for a subcommittee or not. because a subcommittee is permanent and does not need to be decided on again in a AGM or a board meeting. however the motion states “permanent, independent, and arms-length working group on the environment”. This would have to voted on each year which would be unproductive and repetitive. Also having a working group but not assigning a specific executive responsible for assisting it and being apart of it at the start of the year would not be productive. It honestly would be so much easier and better for UTSC students to have a permanent sub-committee on the environment. If this motion passes there is no harm I just want it to continue every year without bureaucracy getting in the way each year.
a. Support – UTERN should have a ex-officio rep on the board like many similar groups on campus, 11. BY-LAW AMENDMENT MOTION
- UTERN REPRESENTATION
– Do not support this motion seeing as I am confused by most and want to amend some very important ones, like the clause that seeks to have the “sub-committee” deal with legal processes. Seeing as he SCSU nor any other organization other than a court of law can legally engage with hearing testimony and deal with evidence and asking for witness statements I do not see how this motion would be legal. Even when we had to deal with the voter fraud during our last AGM, I found out we could not do much due to our limited legal authority.
However, some clauses can be amended. The ones I have not listed are fine.
I do not get some of the motions that refers to “this committee”. I think they are referring to the committee made up of individuals mentioned here, however the proper way to add a committee would be to amend the SCSU bylaw that lists all of the sub-committees, and then list out the duties. “FURTHER RESOLVED that, points and complaints made in good faith are to be submitted to at least the executive director, student members of the committee, and at least one director,”
If so, any committee added will be subject to Roberts rules of order which include in camera sessions. I say this because the BIRT clauses that follow reference having private meetings to discuss sensitive information. This is already possible with Roberts rules of order.
The following are the clauses that are redundant as closing proceedings is already included in RROO (in camera) which the SCSU follows,
Here are some FAQ’s on In-Camera sessions https://www.su.ualberta.ca/media/uploads/580/InCameraFAQ.pdf “FURTHER RESOLVED that, the committee, by a simple majority vote, may decide to close proceedings to the public if there is sensitive information that is being discussed,”
Nothing discussed in the In-camera sessions can be said again publicly unless consent is given, thus this clause is a bit redundant. “FURTHER RESOLVED that, committee proceedings until after all information has been gathered, will be kept confidential until consent between the person making the point and the entire committee are in alignment for release of information to prevent tampering”,
This procedure is already apart of RROO and the SCSU by-laws, as every sub committee reports back to the rest of the directors in the monthly Board meetings, “FURTHER RESOLVED that, this committee may recommend to the Board appropriate remedies that it sees fit for the resolution of an urgent and substantial point through a simple majority vote within committee.”
What are time-bound guarantees “FURTHER RESOLVED that, this committee may issue time-bound guarantees for people who decide to raise an important point in good faith to protect them from any harassment and threats”,
Here is where the motion mentions that all procedures of the sub-committee should follow SCSU by-laws but be able to change them at the same time, “FURTHER RESOLVED that, the committee may decide on its internal procedures so long as they are in accordance with the rest of SCSU by-laws, policies, and principles”,
Seeing as the SCSU does not have the power to demand any witness statements (outside of a legal dispute where a judge issues subpoena someone) from any student I do not see why a sub-committee should have that power. I just do not understand is this committee suppose to be a semi-legal sub committee. I think having this clause is inappropriate, as no student should be expected to collect witness testimony, nor do they have the training and schooling of understanding the legal parameters of an investigation, testimony, and evidence. “FURTHER RESOLVED that, this committee may be given the special privilege to ask for witness statements and testimony in addition to any evidence related to the case based on a simple majority vote in committee,
This clause is being very optimistic that dates for both the AGM and the WGM can be decided on in July.
I think setting them three months before their respective dates, and then confirming the dates and advertising it a month before is good. “RESOLVED that dates for the AGM and WGM be set no later than July each fiscal year”. 12. BY-LAW AMENDMENT a. Support 13. AGENDA ITEM MOTION a. Support

2020.11.17 14:15 alxsbrk Hebrew Institution at the Emirates!
The authorities have announced that the first Hebrew language institute will open next year in the UAE to teach Hebrew classes, Israeli culture and cuisine to Emiratis, businessmen and citizens living in the Emirates.
The Educational Hebrew Institute (EHI) will open its classes with branches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi on January 3, 2021. This follows the tremendous demand for learning the Hebrew language shown by Emiratis and UAE companies doing business with Israeli entrepreneurs, officials said.
The new Israel-UAE peace agreement has raised interest in awareness and education based on the Hebrew language. EHI Director Josh Samet told the Khaleej Times that the institute will teach not only the Hebrew language, but also facts related to Israeli culture, local Israeli cuisine, how to do business with Israelis, etc. To carry out company preparation, the best Hebrew teachers from Israel will be brought over to the UAE. In Dubai, four educational branches have already been set up and two are coming up soon in Abu Dhabi. Classes will start from January at all branches, Samet said, adding that several businessmen have already begun registering for the Hebrew course.
Samet noted that the successful opening of these educational centers across the UAE has created positive conditions, including positive business prospects and increased traffic and tourism for both countries.
The EHI was created in 2020 by educators united by one vision: to teach students, with fun and engaging methods, the conversational skills of the spoken Hebrew language in the most up-to-date way. The EHI promises to give every person who wishes to learn and share exceptional resources.

2020.11.16 16:19 partypastor Unreached People Group of the Week - Qashqa'i in Iran
Hey guys, two things before we begin. One is a prayer request. My girlfriend is in the ER, so please please be praying for her, the doctors, and for healing! The other is that I apologize for missing last week. It was a crazy busy Monday and I didn't prioritize this post like I should have.
So, meet the Qashqa'i of Iran! How Unreached Are They?
The Qashqa'i are 0% Christian. That means, at best, out of their population of nearly a million, there are a small handful of believers.
There are small portions of the Bible translated in their language, Kashkay What are they like? Typical qualification that all people groups can't be summed up in small paragraphs and this is an over generalization.
The Qashqa'i (pronounced KASH-kai) are a nomadic people who roam across the harsh deserts of southwest Iran. Although they are made up of many different linguistic, cultural, and tribal origins, they all call themselves "Turks." Qashqai Turki, their spoken language, does not yet exist in written form; most of them communicate in the Farsi language instead. History Lesson
The Qashqa'i are considered a minority people group in Iran. Forceful attempts have been made to incorporate them into the mainstream of Iranian society; however, such efforts have failed, and these fascinating people have remained independent and proud. Although the Qashqa'i are professing Muslims, they have little use for organized religion beyond political purposes.
In the Qashqa'i society, the upper class consists of men who are politically active. Their wealth comes mainly from control over land and ownership of herds. The lower class is made up of those who hire out their labor. They may serve as full-time shepherds and camel drivers, or as part-time field laborers and sharecroppers. The poorest of the Qashqa'i are those people who own no land or herds. They are not paid money for their goods or services, but are paid in food, clothing, supplies, and/or animals. Within this "poor class," anyone over the age of eight years is expected to work to support himself.
Although the Qashqa'i women have little freedom, they do take the lead in certain family matters. For example, they are responsible for arranging marriages. They are probably best known, though, for their expert weaving skills.
The main foods for Iranians are rice and bread. Traditional dishes include abgusht (a thick meat and bean soup), dolmeh (vegetables stuffed with meat and rice), and kebob (lamb roasted on a skewer).
The fact that the Qashqa'i are travelers seems to add to their military, political, and cultural identity. In fact, the Qashqa'i who settle are seen by others within their group as people who lack an interest in political matters. Joshua Project
We know very little about their history, except that the Qashqa'i left central Asia in the 11th century AD and began entering Iran. Nothing else is recorded about them until the mid-18th century when the ruler of southern Iran appointed a Qashqa'i as the tribal leader of a province. Joshua Project What do they believe?
Islam is the state religion of Iran, and virtually all of the Qashqa'i profess to be Muslims. In reality, however, they have very little contact with Islamic institutions or devout Muslims; they simply use Islam for its political advantages. Very few observe daily prayers, and they do not fast during Ramadan (the ninth month of the Muslim calendar in which all Muslims are expected to fast and pray). They do, however, follow Muslim traditions during the rites of marriage and death. Joshua Project How Can We Pray For Them?
Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. (Romans 10:1)
- Ask God to create a hunger in the hearts of the Qashqa'i and an openness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
- Pray that God will raise up laborers who understand the Muslim culture and who can effectively take the Gospel to them.
- Pray that God will provide contacts for missions agencies trying to reach the Qashqa'i. Pray that He will give them His strategy and wisdom.
- In the midst of Iran's constant political unrest, pray that these nomads will begin to search for the true, lasting peace that only Jesus can give.
- Pray that God will open doors for Christian businessmen from other countries to share the Gospel with the Qashqa'i.
Here are the previous weeks threads on the UPG of the Week for Reformed
As always, if you have experience in this country or with this people group, feel free to comment or PM me and I will happily edit it so that we can better pray for these peoples!

2020.11.15 02:40 JamesAThurber Is Bald & Bankrupt really a sex tourist and a prolific pick up artist?
| || | submitted by JamesAThurber to BaldAndBaldrDossier [link] [comments]
That's the question constantly being asked on this subreddit.
The other question is; how are you connecting a forum user with multiple pseudonyms ("Vorkuta" / "The Fantasist" / "The Ligurian") on multiple PUA (pick up artist) discussion forums such as NaughtyNomad, swooptheworld and Rooshv with Ben Rich
of Bald & Bankrupt
youtube fame? Is it the same guy? Surely not.
Well, let's start from the beginning, please keep an open mind and decide for yourself.
Ok, so full disclosure, to date there is nothing beyond ALL doubt that this Vorkuta/Fantasist (amongst other usernames) is the very same Ben Rich of youtube fame. Short of an admission that is. However, you'll notice I left out the word "reasonable" from the doubt bit because the chances of Bald & Bankrupt not being this very same Vorkuta/The Fantasist character are, in this writer's humble opinion, in the millions to one..
First of all, let's talk about the background of this "Vorkuta/ The Fantasist" PUA character [hereinafter called "Vorkuta"] and the breadcrumbs that led us to discover this user's real name.
Vorkuta described in great detail on the Rooshv forum a rape charge that he and 2 friends were acquitted of at trial in Winchester, UK. His description of events matches exactly that with the reporting of a rape trial in the Southampton Daily Echo newspaper from the UK.. Both the timeline, area, circumstances, age of defendants and even the particulars of the case match that exactly as described by Vorkuta. One of the defendants in the case is reported in the Echo as being a person called Benjamin Rich-Swift. Vorkuta describes how, at the acquittal, the judge had said he and the other two defendants had acted "appallingly". A summation Vorkuta disagreed with. As I'm sure he would. The case was thrown out after the victim had apparently become confused as to who precisely of the three had raped her. After the trial Vorkuta says he dropped the Father part of his last name (Swift), ran away from a debt of £30k and simply went by the maiden name of his Mother (Rich). Vorkuta describes living on the Isle of Wight (same location as the alleged rape) and on regularly travelling on the IOW ferry where all the defendants in the case lived. It's fairly safe to assume then that the trial Vorkuta describes (albeit without citing it directly) is the same as the one reported in the newspaper and that Vorkuta's real name is indeed Benjamin Rich-Swift (Later just "Benjamin Rich"). https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/5618610.cleared-men-behaved-appallingly/
However, the question still remains, how is this "Vorkuta" Benjamin Rich the same as our Benjamin Rich from Bald & Bankrupt? It's purely circumstantial, right?
Ok, so asides from having an identical name, in other posts :
Vorkuta mentions a number of times on the rooshv forum how he moved from the Isle of Wight to Brighton on the South Coast of England. Bald & Bankrupt says his hometown is also Brighton.
Vorkuta describes how he is bald and 6'3 in height. This is identical to the height that B&B mentions in his videos.
Vorkuta describes himself of being from Jewish heritage and in using that to have sex with Israeli backpackers in India. B&B also describes himself as being Jewish and regularly wears Star of David tshirts..
Vorkuta says his favorite football team is Chelsea, B&B the same.
Vorkuta describes how, on his first visit to India, he fell gravely ill and once he'd fully recovered ended up running a guest house there for 4 years. An identical set of events is described exactly by Bald & Bankrupt in one of his early Youtube videos. The two timelines also match identically.
Vorkuta details his learning of the Russian language, studying and teaching in Russia, a love of all things Soviet and of his many travels around the FSR and outlying countries and in having sex with as many women as possible there and by any means necessary. B&B speaks Russian and describes a very similar set of events (asides the sex part of course).
Vorkuta describes having a young Belarusian girlfriend. B&B the same.
Vorkuta explains his "Gaming of women" and tactics in great detail. He explains his most successful technique is to befriend the local men and babushkas (sound familiar?), and earning their adulation and respect by accidentally showing them fake pictures of himself in affluent settings such as "sat in a fast car in the South of France". Knowing that, in his words "by the following day they will have told all their friends (and more importantly the young women) of the wealthy foreigner who had just entered their "shithole" of a town" [with a view that] by the following evening I can drop the Babushkas and fake male friendships and move onto their women.
A tactic Vorkuta calls his "Schindler Technique". In the Bald & Bankrupt videos a common theme is B&B befriending locals and in particular the local babushkas. And somewhat surprisingly describing on camera some of the places he visits as being shitholes.
Perhaps for obvious reasons we also never see B&B recording during the nighttime / otherwise known as Night Game on the PUA websites.
Vorkuta's language as used in the forum is common to that as spoken by B&B. Vorkuta regularly uses the words like Hotties, Babushkas, Gopniks and Soviet in his forum posts.
Vorkuta describes himself as being an amateur photographer that's fascinated with the former soviet republic. B&B does likewise and was previously a photographer for the now defunct "Desolation Travel" website where a certain Ben Rich (c/w accompanying photograph of the person we know now as Bald and Bankrupt) can be found. http://desolationtravel.blogspot.com/p/authors.html
Ben R in Vorkuta, Russia
Vorkuta explains his love of old soviet buildings and of going to godforsaken towns in the former soviet republic where not many other westerners have been before. B&B does likewise including to a place called Vorkuta (the City), which is in Eastern Russia.
The countries Vorkuta says are the best to visit for sex match almost entirely that with the travel pattern and countries visited by B&B in his videos.
Vorkuta explains how he has an ex-wife who's Belorussian and a daughter that's now a teenager. He describes how they now both live in Nice, France, the wife now married to a rich Russian Oligarch who (surprisingly) Vorkuta is friends with. Vorkuta recalls his sexual conquests in the Nice area and of his visits there to see his daughter. B&B describes a similar need and of regular visits to Nice. B&B also writes on his Instagram and Patreon that he is a regular visitor to Nice.
Perhaps most importantly, the posts by Vorkuta on the PUA forums all date from between 2009 and 2015. i.e. some 3 years prior to the B&B videos emerging on the internet. Impossible therefore that someone is emulating his life story or trying to create a hatchet job on B&B by pretending to be him.
Norwegian vlogger Harald Baldr (Realname: Jens Fredrick Aamodt Jørstad
) was also a member of the Rooshv forum during the same time as Vorkuta. Similarly he too continually changed his username from, ironically, Harald Baldr then to JamesRodri & then to Felix5000 before deleting all records and posts of his from that site. Quick aside about Jens Jorstad (Baldr). In addition to the PUA forum posts removed he also deleted his own personal blog and a number of videos that had a far right leaning political perspective, including one where he condemned immigrants that frequented the Paris Metro. A shortened version of the original video (with most of the racist commentary removed) has been mirrored (potentially by Baldr himself) on a Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrEUg2yHZBA (and no doubt, like everything else, this mirrored version will also disappear soon). At time of writing parts of his now deleted blog haraldbaldr.com can still be found on archive.org including a post he wrote titled how to sleep with Thai girls for free.
Vorkuta describes meeting up with Harald Baldr and with other PUAs (including an Irish guy, again with multiple usernames - Partizen aka Irish aka LordTito aka Bartka aka Traktor) in Kiev and they refer to themselves as the "Kiev Revo Crew". A creepy PUA posse that operated in Kiev. A number of these characters also appear in a number of B&B's videos. NB\
Usernames on web forums can easily be changed. However, when another user then quotes that person's post prior to the username change, the post quoting them does not automatically update to the new username. This is how username breadcrumbs can be linked together. One can only imagine why someone would need to change their username so frequently on an anonymous PUA forum. Or make Youtube videos without revealing their real name. PUA MO 101 perhaps?*
One of the Crew, Irish forum user "Traktor" teaches at a School in Belarus, he too is now also attempting to be a vlogger under the username "Irish Partizan", arguably without the user count and charisma of Baldr and Bald. He can be found filming around Kiev and attempting to make friends with random women from that town. Traktor has appeared in a number of B&B videos and vice versa. On the PUA forums however Traktor is not as precious in maintaining his anonymity, or for that matter, those of the others. He mentions the user Vorkuta in the same breath as he does "Mr. Bald", along with Harald Baldr. This from yet another PUA forum called swooptheworld. [RVF in the post refers to the PUA forum Rooshv]. Vorkuta is someone called Mr Bald
Wrapping up, there is much much more to this story, but unfortunately revealing more would involve giving up the names and identities of some innocents, so the above will have to do for now.
Still not convinced?? Well that's ok. B&B has a lot of dedicated fans. Millions in fact. And perhaps you're reading this still of the opinion that travelling the world and sleeping with women is not illegal. And of course, it's not. Under false pretences or through the use of force or threat of being placed in danger if you do not comply with someones demand for sex though I guess is a moral issue we all have to decide upon for ourselves.
Whatever you believe, the one things for sure is, whoever this Vorkuta / The Fantasist character is in real life (Bald & Bankrupt or otherwise), that person can only be described as one sick puppy. The many seedy stunts and creepy sexual conquests described in great detail for the other PUA members are enough to make the stomachs on even the most liberal amongst us turn. And there are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of posts from this Vorkuta delivered to the other forum members in what he calls a "data sheet". This is a summarised report of a recent City visit that includes naked photos of girls asleep taken clearly without their consent, what score he ranks her out of 10 and additional information of where and how he obtained sex whilst in that City. For obvious reasons these forum posts are now fast being deleted and attempting to be removed both from the internet and from internet history websites such as archive.org as fast as their slippery little fingers can press delete.
Oh, you'd like a taster? Well how about the time when Vorkuta boasts of forcing a young hitchhiker to give him a blowjob in exchange for $6. On the threat that if she did not comply he might leave her in the middle of nowhere as they were travelling alone in a car on some deserted highway somewhere in the FSU. You can only imagine how scared she must have been.
Or another time where he, as a 40yr old man, had "struggled to enter" an 18yr old virgin he had arranged to meet in London that was, in his words, in some considerable pain at the time. But as he describes, he "ploughed on regardless and used lube and viagra". Classy.
And let's not forget, all these morally questionable events and sexual conquests all happened after that very same person had previously been acquitted of rape. You'd have to ask yourself what sort of person would walk free from a trial such as that only to then immediately carry on with their unhealthy obsession of pursuing young women for sex by whatever means necessary?
Anyway, why the obsession for finding out all this stuff? Well, that was mainly due to the feeling that I, and one or two others had, on watching his early videos and seeing him zoom the camera in on Women's boobs and talking constantly of hotties, that there was something not quite right with this guy. That and the fact that he was clearly trying to conceal his real name on camera.
So let me leave you with this. Assuming for one moment Vorkuta is in fact Bald & bankrupt. Purely hypothetical let's say. And we know then that B&B has a teenage daughter who, in a couple of years time, will be of the same age as his current target audience, is it just me that finds that just beyond creepy? And isn't it just hypocritical beyond belief? You can guarantee he won't want anyone from the PUA forums gaming his daughter in the not too distant. Perhaps he'd let the little bald Irish guy Traktor have a go? Or maybe Harald Baldr or even that Tall Travels guy with the monotone voice?
Probably not. But it's ok for him to do it if the victims are from a poor country in SE Asia or from the former soviet union, eh?
2020.11.14 14:15 kittehgoesmeow What A Day: Debtor Call Saul by Sarah Lazarus, Brian Beutler and Crooked Media (11/13/20)
"Boy, did we screw up! What a mess!" - Charles Koch, who is ready to (hahah) unite the country now (hahahahaha)
Praising Arizona The disgraced lame-duck president and some of his closest advisers continue to fantasize about executing a coup d’etat, but they now have to grapple with the absence of a few key ingredients.
Like lawyers. And political allies. And security officers. Happy Friday the 13th: Jason is after us but he forgot his chainsaw and hockey mask and also his pants keep falling down.
It may simply have dawned on Trump that an actual coup would require more than just a few barking-mad White House aides to play along.
- As the New York Times reported Thursday, President Trump continues to harangue his closest aides over a “survival scenario” where Republican legislatures in multiple states President-elect Joe Biden won ignore the results and appoint enough Trump electors to install him for a second term. The good news is Trump is just a man incapable of working through the stages of his grief, and these conversations reportedly aren’t “detailed” or “serious.” The (unmentioned) bad news: The president of the United States and his advisers continue to mull over schemes to bring American democracy to an end.
- Also bad: Their “deliberations” keep spilling out into the public. Friday morning on Fox Business Channel, Trump economic adviseDownfall bunker-scene extra Peter Navarro claimed “We’re moving forward here at the White House under the assumption that there will be a second Trump term.” (There will not.) Also on Fфx BusiЙess, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany rebutted the suggestion that it’d look bad for Trump to skip Inauguration Day thusly: "I think the president will attend his own inauguration." (He will not.)
- The best indication that even Trump knows this is all just corrosive psychological warfare is that he’s already planning to run for president in 2024 (which only makes sense if he’s accepted that he lost). According to the Times we should expect him to announce his 2024 candidacy after Biden has been certified the winner in 270 Electoral Votes worth of states. Note to Biden and Democrats: your obligation to end the Trump coverups now serves a new and more important purpose of preventing us all from going crazy).
Trump never had a decent shot of overturning this election, and what little infrastructure he did have is crumbling. (Good news: It’s Infrastructure Week!)
- The Trump campaign has abandoned its legal challenge to a number of ballots in Maricopa County now that Biden has decisively flipped Arizona, recognizing that it would be like arguing about a deck chair on the Titanic. Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar announced that there will be no recounts or recanvasses in the great state of Pennsylvania. Trump is now 1-14 in frivolous lawsuits, and a white-shoe law firm has dropped him altogether. Sixteen federal prosecutors assigned to monitor the election have told Attorney General Bill Barr they saw nothing weird, and to take back his dumb fraud memo. The writing’s on the wall, in words simple enough that even Trump can read them.
- Even if he wanted to barricade himself inside the White House, he’s taking down all his reinforcements: More than 130 Secret Service agents (all sworn to uphold the Constitution, not defend the former president’s bunker from the new president) have either tested positive for coronavirus or had close contact with an infected coworker. Campaign rallies: They may not have won Trump the election, but at least they sickened dozens of people who were forced to be there, accelerated local outbreaks, and taught several patriots the true meaning of hypothermia!
What remains to be seen is how long he’ll drive Americans to self-medication by pretending otherwise, how badly it will erode public faith in future elections, and what level of damage he’ll inflict on the country for the sake of sabotaging Joe Biden. We’ve got a few more weeks of white-knuckling ahead.

Under The Radar The Trump administration has begun one last push to get Chad Wolf confirmed as DHS secretary before Inauguration Day.
Wolf has been serving as acting secretary for a year, in an unlawful capacity: Both the Government Accountability Office and a federal judge have found Wolf’s appointment to have been invalid. The rush to get him confirmed now signals that the Trump administration is aware that nothing Wolf has done is legit, and that the incoming Biden administration can easily roll back all of his programs and policies unless he becomes legit in the next 68 days. Buried in there is the implicit acknowledgement that Trump is an inexorable loser, so while this is a ridiculous scramble to saddle Biden with a mess of a Homeland Security department, it’s also weirdly a little soothing.
What Else? Justice Samuel Alito delivered the keynote speech at Thursday’s Federalist Society convention, during which he criticized governors for implementing coronavirus restrictions, revealed he does not know how Plan B works, and characterized the public criticism of people against same-sex marriage as “censorship.”
Among other sparkling insights. Imagine being part of a 6-3 majority on the Supreme Court and being this whiny. The White House forced two senior DHS officials to resign—including the assistant director for cybersecurity
—on the same day his agency concluded
that there was “no evidence” any voting systems were compromised in the election. A steam explosion at a Veteran Affairs hospital in Connecticut killed two workers and left a third person missing. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will make an unprecedented visit to an Israeli settlement in the West Bank next week,
with a cute little stop at a winery that named a bottle after him after he reversed the U.S.’s long-standing policy of considering the settlements illegal. Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) thought the Justice Department’s investigation of Jeffrey Epstein’s outrageous plea deal left something to be desired:
“Letting a well-connected billionaire get away with child rape and international sex trafficking isn’t ‘poor judgment’—it is a disgusting failure.” Rep.-elect (woof) Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) spent her new member orientation whining about masks. Sen.-elect (blurgh) Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) does not know the three branches of government, or that the allies fought WWII against fascists, not socialists.
It’s gonna be a great year! Elon Musk has once again catapulted our scientific understanding forward by becoming the first man to discover that rapid coronavirus tests have some reliability issues. Phoebe Bridgers has made good on her Election Day promise to cover “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls if Trump lost,
and it features Maggie Rogers, and it slaps
. Winning elections has a few perks.
What In The World? Trump’s ill treatment of U.S. allies has left them shell-shocked and unready to love again. Diplomats and analysts say that even with Joe Biden in the White House, Trump’s constant breaking of international agreements and personal abuse of foreign leaders has damaged allies’ trust to the point that a certain level of wariness will remain.
Biden has vowed to re-enter the Paris Agreement, rejoin the nuclear deal if Iran returns to compliance, scrap plans to leave the WHO, and end a rule that bans funding to aid groups that promote or provide abortions. All of that will help, but foreign leaders have now realized that any American agreement is at the mercy of whichever lunatic gets elected next. Rebuilding our international alliances will be a longer-term project, and much of it will depend on whether we can stop electing lunatics.
